That was the first thing I noticed too. Only difference is the TMIC and the EWG + UEL headers. STi TMIC made 20 more tq but made it 500 RPM later, any ideas?

Also, I know its just dyno #'s and its hard to compare, but whats up with Car 4 & 5? Is it just a conservative tune for #5? And I really haven't seen that many 20G plots, but do they really spool that slow?

That GT52 powerband looks money as hell tho

i can't quite figure it out either. the 1st car does have a far stronger tq curve, but i figured with an aps tmic/ewg/headers, it'd make a lot more power than the car with the oem sti tmic/iwg/oem headers.

You will note that car #1 spools much faster and the power is farther to the left. The most compelling thing though is that the power band is also much more linear. Car #2 spikes to a higher torque number later and is not nearly as linear. This is all attributed to both the UEL header (moving power to the left), and the precise boost control (making the power delivery more linear and flat). Car #2 due to it's internal WG, can't control boost fast enough.

Not every car is

This compares Car #1 to Car #2

Hope that helps.

JJ

All cars are different. Car #1's power band looks better (starting 500rpm's sooner and more flat) I assume because of the headers.

Even though torque dosnt peak as high on car #1 compared to car #2 it's making more torque from 4k-5krpm.

I'm really diggin the GT35R and GT52 power graphs. Nice!

Edit: what he said^

Edit edit: What's boost peaking on the two stock turbo STI's and what does it taper to at redline?

Honestly.... for me, the most impressive car is #6... That's a stage 2 WRX.. making 260WHP.

On this type of dyno, the average is 220-240WHP for a similar set of mods.

Just curious, don't know a lot about the new STi's yet, for the 08 STi you tuned...do you make 3 different maps, 1 for each SI-Drive mode, or is it just one map for all three modes, and when you switch between modes it slightly alters the base map?

It's not as simple as the latter, but its not the former, either.

I love these IAG threads. Really helps to get a look at a bunch of cars, with varying mods, on the same dyno, on the same day. Also, if you take the spike out of Car#1 vs. Car#2 they make a lot more sense. While it peaks higher, car #1 tapers less and has more area under the curve

Keep these threads coming. Jorge FTW...

Correct. 100% Stock Motor. The car still has TGV's, stock cams, stock intake.....100% stock. Now that being said, I have to be honest, that we are not totally happy with the results of this set up. The Stainless Steel V Band .82 seems too small. We will be changing the turbine housing next month to the 1.06 Tial V Band version. The numbers are good, but we clearly have reached a point of diminishing returns because of the .82 Turbine housing. To take it one step farther, we would not have pushed the car quite this hard if we didn't have plans to put a built motor in immediately following this tune. That being said, I don't really want people to think that we are thrilled with the result. We are thrilled with the V Band Turbo Kit. It did turn out awesome and we are looking forward to a few changes that we would like to make. We actually started work on that car on Thursday January 22 at about 11am and finished it on Friday night about 2am. We have a few minor adjustments to make and then we are good to go. The kit did perform perfectly, but we now know that the Tial V band Stainless Steel turbine housings all run about one size smaller. Next month we will see what the results are with the 1.06.

Regards,
JJ

For me as well, that is seriously stout for those mods. Do you know if the owner has any plans to take it to the strip? I would be very interested to see what it would trap.
