My 02 wrx has random misfires and it cuts out if i give it more then quarter throttle or go over 3000 rpms, i checked the coil packs and they all are firing. And the right side of the motor the injectors sound like they are clicking how do i check the injectors or what should i do?

The tick is likely the magnets in your injectors I do believe, mine are painfully loud (820cc). This is normal, you just may not have noticed them before.
What are you using for tuning, ap? |

Why do you think it runs good for like ten minutes and then keeps cutting out

what do you mean by misfire?
the car starts accelerating and then feels like the whole car dies out and stops accelerating? or like a sound that come from your exhaust ? AKA backfiring? explain more in detail and tell me if you have a boost gauge, keep an eye on it if you do.. otherwise, we need to get into more detial. |

and considering the setup you are running..
you either.. A) have a 255lph fuel pump and forgot to mention it or.. B) you dont have a 255lph fuel pump and your car is begging for one since this happens at more than 1/4 throttle.. and/or.. above 3000 RPM.. this makes your fuel pump look suspicious. was our car running just find with the same setup you are running? was there any changes to your vehicle after you purchased it? if so what changes or upgrades have u done.. i cant tell u whats wrong unless u are here.. but i can pin point it for you most def.. just be proactive on this thread |

Well it is misfiring and also backfiring. I do not know if it has a 255lph fuel pump. The codes it is giving are, boost calibration high, increased exhaust temp, random misfire in cylinder 1-4, throttle actuation potentiometer signal to high and the PCM has determined that the voltage signal from the exhaust gas temp sensor in bank 1 is too low for the current engine operating conditions. Thats all the codes, i will find out what fuel pump i have. What other signs could this be?

Looks like you have a throttle position sensor code in there. If your TP sensor is acting up this could cause your symptoms. The ECU doesn't know what your right foot is doing. The TP along with MAF and o2 mainly determine how much fuel and timing to run. If the ECU doesn't know you have opened the throttle you're now getting a whole bunch of air entering the engine and not enough extra fuel. This will cause it to bog, misfire, hesitate. What are the code numbers?
Injector's make a clicking sound so that's probably normal. |

You're missing some codes:
Quote:
This is all out of the Service Manual: PO301-4 Misfires Cylinder 1-4 Possible causes: If codes PO106, PO107, PO108, PO117 PO118, PO125 are present diagnose these first. PO106-8 are related to the pressure sensor. PO117, 118, and 125 are related to the coolant temp sensor. PO545- Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor High Input Possible causes: Bad Connection, Bad EGT, Shorted wire EGT to PCM Symptoms: Eroneouse idle, Hard start, Poor driving Performance P1301- Fire due to increase in Exhaust gas Temp Possible Causes: Repair PO301-4 first Symptoms: Eroneous idle, Engine Stalls, Poor driving performance P1544- High exhaust gas temp detected Possible causes: Repair PO301-4, PO1301, and a bunch of others I think the codes you have listed without a number are probably the under lying cause. Misfire codes will not cause a TP or pressure sensor code but the TP and Press can cause misfires. The TP sensor and pressure sensor are both located on the throttle body. Look it over for anything obvious. |

I wouldn't pull the sensor out. I would check for chaffed or pinched wires, make sure they're all connected securely. Make sure the throttle plate opens and closes smoothly. Unfortunately the diagnostics subaru gives for the pressure sensor codes require a voltmeter and ideally a subaru scan tool. Check the EGT connector if you still have one.
Are there certain codes that are repeated each time or are they always different? Try using the search button with the code numbers plugged in. |
