Is your ECU from an automatic and you have a manual car? There's an input on the ECU which needs to be wired for a 0 or 5 volt input. This will tell the ECU the car is not in park. (If this is the right code I'm thinking of). I had this happen on an EJ22T swap and the car would run like absolute crap. It would also only rev up to ~4k and then fuel cut. I realized I would get fuel cut whenever the car hit 0 vacuum.

Code 43 looks to be throttle switch (throttle position sensor?).

I'm not 100% sure all these codes are correct, it's a generic OBD1 CEL list. I believe the costs are the same for all Subaru motors though.

resurrected, because i too am getting a persistent code 43 on my EJ20G swap, there was a wire i was concerned about, so i went back and checked it, but the wiring diagram shows the TPS having 4 wires, power ground, signal and idle switch.
so what is the throttle switch, and what are the symptoms of its malfunction?

found it on a UK diagram, it shows a G/B wire going to pin 30 (equivalent B96 14) and the other (a B/R) to ground. I assume this is a WOT switch that grounds when the throttle is fully depressed. But what I want to know is why am i getting this code on a 6K ecu?
I was of the impression that those were not UK spec and the Japanese diagram doesn't show anything at b96 14 or a throttle switch accelerator pedal switch etc.
I'm kinda lost now, If anybody has some insight, I'd be very appreciative.

kk figured it out.
adjust ur throttle postion sensor until the idle switch is tripped.

U sure? I show a separate pin at the ecu for accelerator pedal switch and idle switch.
I finally got the code to go away when entering Diag and clear mode by pinning a wire into the spot for "throttle switch" and touching it to ground when i depressed the pedal fully.
yeah I know band-aids just cover the wound.

it's for the throttle pedal switch found only on JDM models. The code is persistant, but it won't cause a CEL or any drivability issues. I haven't found anyone who knows what it does. If it really bugs you I could modify the running code to never set the code :P

yes, 43 is the ghost code that comes up when u reset the ecu the soft way. (green and black + floor accelerator a few seconds, then 50%)
Idle switch is when the throttle is fully closed, an idle switch is closed on the tps sensor. If ur tps sensor is maladjusted u will get the idle switch code. my bad.
