Default FSB question for my fellow "A Stockers"

Any of you guys run a 32mm Front Bar for daily driving? Don't feel like switching back after every event. Any negative side effect besides over powering your street tire?

It only helps in extreme cornering. Other than that... it's just a bar that connects the two sides of the lower suspension.

You're not gonna have a problem.

+1 I drove my former D-stock '06 WRX for two years with the 27/29mm whiteline FSB. No issues whatsoever and it made the daily commute a little more fun in the turns!

We ran a 32mm bar on our '05 AS STi for 2 years. Just watch your control arm swaybar mounting tabs. I am not sure how different they on an '08, but they tend to fatigue on the '05 and make the control arms a wear item.

bigger bars also make endlinks a wear item. if you have sphereical bearings in them watch out for the bumps! they will egg out soon. Im switching to poly on my 29mm fsb.

I have the perrin endlinks right now, I think they are spherical. What make is the poly endlinks. Would you recommend them for a 32mm bar over the spherical?

yes perrin endlinks are spherical.

kartboy and group-a are poly endlinks (among a few others.)

The '08+ STi has a significantly beefier front swaybar mount than the 04-07 GD did. The GD chassis swaybar mount was thin enough that it just fatigued away with the big bars if you did a lot of events. I still have a spare driver side arm from all the testing/breaking those tabs that I did. (in the FS section if anyone needs one ) The GR has held up much better to lots of abuse because the tab is about the full height of the control arm.

You mean using the same endlinks from my 1984 3/4 ton van on an STi swaybar was a bad idea!? :P LOL
