Default Weird seat question

I'm am getting my06 Sti ready for the NW hillclimb events and my budget ran dry, well really close to dry. So my question is; has anybody out there had experience cutting a hole in there seat for a Sub belt? If so, did you do it yourself or did you have a custom upholsterer do it?

I'm trying to weight whether or not I should do the above or try to find a really cheap race seat. Also the rules don't state that you have to have a race seat.

Any experienced input would be appreciated.

I would not do it. Through all the time that I worked at Schroth Racing, that was a big no no. The seat is not made to handle a sub belt. There is too much compression there and it would negate any safety features which you were trying to incorporate by adding one.

Thanks heads up. I definately overlooked that part of it. Looks like I need a new seat, back to blood bank.
