why so conservative with the boost on the e85 tune? Running out of injector?

It was at about 90% on the injectors, so it could be pushed a little bit more, but above 90% injector control isn't great, so you end up running it richer to keep things safe. Of course the WRX cams with the greater amount of overlap don't help out as much up top.

Oh, and of course we would like to not have the stock 5 speed transmission turned into bits.

Nice! Numbers look almost Identical to mine!! Hows the 8cm hotside for spool? I can't really make out the afr's, he have it close to 12's under boost? Whats it tuned on?

Sweet man! I really loved this turbo when I had my 02 bugeye. I made very similar numbers with a similar mod list (310awhp 285awtq @ 20psi).

And Jerod if you're considering this turbo get the 8cm^2 housing. It's going to make more power up top, more torque in general, give you more headroom if you decide to up the boost and cost you like 300rpm in spool. Something to keep in mind; Evo's use a 10cm^2 housing stock with the same 2.0 displacement.

E85 is awesome stuff if you can get it.. Much higher octane then 94, if you have the fuel pump and injector to do it.

This was an Accessport tune btw. I'll get a dyno graph with the AFRs plotted on the right axis for you.

You certainly could run the 18G harder, make more torque especially with E85, but you have the delima of running the injectors at close to 100%, and if the tank gets a mixture of E85 with a few gallons of 92 (which I would think happens in a street car), you want a little margin.

Most of all, you can get more, but you can also break more. Remember this is an EJ205 (not the strongest rods), and more importantly a 5 speed.

This was E85 compared to Oregon 92, which is much better then Ca91, that is for sure. It is all about the boost my friend.

Thanks for fielding all the questions for me Jeff. Sure wish i had the funds to buy your block and get some heads for it. Actually I could swing the block and heads, but install would kill me. And then i'd want a 6speed, etc. etc.

Jsarv I'm at full boost by about 3700 or so

Nice, I see 18.5psi at 3700 as well... I have a larger compressor housing with the 7cm2 turbine housing.

I can hold 22psi till redline, but I'm out of injectors and maxed my maf out at the same time..

E85 ftw!!

Exactly Jeff.

I could have made more torque with more boost but 300 ft pounds is asking for an older 5 speed to explode on the dyno.

I'll post a data log when i get back to my laptop.

No joke! Are you ever coming back to Indy or Buschur again? I know for a fact that we have a good amount of Toledo guys looking for tunes. I know of at least three just off the top of my head.
