I anticipation for this game I started GT4 again. Realized how much time I was spending on it and made the move not to buy a PS3. GT is like crack for me.

Sold my ps3 years ago because nothing good was out. Since GT5 is now out, I'm picking up another PS3 tomorrow and GT5.
Is the game is good as it looks? I'd spent countless hrs playing previous GT games.. |

Oh GT5 is amazing...however I am not all that impressed with the Beginner Rally Stages. I hope they get a lot better. It's not a good representation of what real Rally Stages look like at all

Anyone have an engine stand they need to unload??? Found a donor block and need one to perform a rip down.
Rob Picked it up today from chicago. Planning on ripping it down soon. ![]() Build thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2094409 Last edited by sackytar; 11-28-2010 at 06:11 PM. |

You can tear it down without a stand. I never used one in the past four tear downs.

A stand is very nice to have. Get a 20% coupon out of the back of a magazine and go to harbor freight, use the coupon to further reduce the price of an engine stand that is on sale.

They're not professional grade exactly, but a subaru engine isn't wildly heavy so their low-end model should hold up. Print the web price before you go in store in case they don't have it on sale in-store.

Yeah prob go the HF route. Got everything tore down last night except pistons and crankshaft. Got to get a 14mm Allen. Lots of metal grime in oil pan.

it's not so bad to tear down without, but for assembly I bet you'll want it.

Meet is Wednesday. We are doing 7pm to allow people a little more time to get there and maybe avoid some of the rush hour traffic.

Speaking of cheap tools, anyone know where I should go to get a decent, reasonably priced work bench? I am thinking 6-8 feet long and 3-4 feet deep. Also, anyone on here have access to any *ahem* VIN databases? I know they're not foolproof, but I am in the market for a late nineties, early 00's Cherokee and I am sort of leary of them. Thanks |

For a workbench, go to menards and get gorilla rack. It comes in 4, 6, and 7 foot height end pieces and the same for shelf lengths. It's modular, you can mix and match, and it's easy to take apart if you move. It's what I have in my shop, I just put a shelf at the right height to use as a workbench:

They don't come with the shelf surface. I used 3/4" plywood, convenient because you rip a full sheet to create 2 shelves. If you wanted a little more meat to it just rip the 4x8' sheet of 3/4" plywood lengthwise and glue the halves together. A vise or grinder would bolt to that OK.
