I don't know about that theres a lot of people doing hybrid build with amazing results. Look on the built motor thread.

All the parts are I possession except gear oil. Ordered that form Turn in Concepts. Hopefully Friday.

Got the rear diff and driveshaft from Carl last night.

Thanks for the hookup Travis.

No problem man, glad it worked out for you.

Louie, I agree with Rob: there are too many hybrids for them to not turn out well. Carl is running one, and my buddy ran one in his Rally Car with great results. Those are two examples I know of personally, and I've read of countless others.

If anyone is looking or knows someone in the market for a WRX I'm selling my 04' silver WRX with 90K miles in good condition inside and out. 5spd. I'm located in the Kzoo area. $10500 or best offer. Looking to sell fast so all reasonable offers considered. Happy Thanksgiving!

No, but you're going to have a bitch of a time trying to retain AVCS on those STi heads in the Saabaru. Just giving my opinion on the road I'd follow, and please don't think I have experience with either the 2.5 or a Hybrid, I'm only regurgitating what I've read and heard and what seems to work well.

I think a couple things should be established before work ensues:
Budget
Power Goals
Purpose of the vehicle
Time limit

Rob, what kind of welder do you have? 110, 220, flux, or gas? I need to borrow a 110 gas setup. I already have the bottle and wire. What kind of heat control does it have: switches for high and low, or an actual dial?

Yeah it's an 110 wire. Not really the best for critical welds. What are you fabbing up ?

Stainless exhaust. Looks like I'm going to be buying myself a welder today so I don't have to borrow a welder again. I have quite a few hours to kill today, so I'll spend it all under my car making myself a loud exhaust I suppose. Too bad it's so windy that I'll have to weld everything in my garage.

Nope, just a nice MIG. I already have my bottle and my wire. Looks like a Lincoln Electric is in my future though.

Edit: Black Friday is a bitch because it makes me feel like I want to spend money... So I did. Bought a nice Lincoln MIG so I can take care of all my welding stuff at my house and never borrow a welder again. So awesome. Now I just need to wait until Sunday so I have less wind, 40*, and sun.

If only... That carcass of a car is still up on stands in my driveway and blocking a path. I don't have my cherry picker here at my house either, so I can't pick it up and move it.

And to get the old 5 speed out. I'll see what's up, but I've got a party tonight and tomorrow, and gonna smash out the exhaust on Sunday.

I should be available through the week, although late.

Actually I can get the 5 speed out myself. I just put it in my jack and lowered it out. 6 speed is a little bit heavier to put back in.

That's smart. I didn't use my jack because it was too short on my big jack stands, so I had to slide and pull it out with my dads help. Screw ever doing that again. I'll rent a transmission jack, or just pull the motor and tranny as a unit.

Had some dude in a red Jetta 1.8t with rims, tint, and a muffler give me a ricer-rev while at a stop light today. I looked over, and he and his buddy laughed, then looked at my wheels like "This dude's a douche-canoe." I knew he was going to want to run and I initially let him get the drop, but when he started to pull on me I hammered it, hit fuel cut, grabbed second and walked on him. I'm not "that guy" that does the rev-limiter wave, or the BOV Salute, but if someone thinks my car is rice I'll show you that it can hustle.

So far it's been about 50/50 as to how the other guy will react to seeing my car. I've had a couple people wave, and a couple people be ricey.

He didn't try to line up against me at the next light..

I can't wait for this thing to be tuned. Even right now it's a riot.

Hahah that's awesome, I do the same thing. You're car is pretty tame besides the red? spoke looks wise isn't it? Are people more reactive to it then the old flat black one?
