I'd sell your car and find another STi. You could sell your and make more money and find a better deal of a STi. Your call though.

After much deliberation I have decided not to buy that Sti. I'm gonna look for a different one and sell my car outright. I just can't let my car go for the trade in he is offering. So I am going to put my car up for sale private party so I can sell it for what it's worth and have a bigger down payment. Anyone interested in an 06 Wrx let me know. I am probably goin to list it around $14,000. Anyone locally here on nasioc will get a price break. Thanks for the advise guys. Sti shopping hear I come.

Otherwise, I don't have anyone to suggest. Most of us down here do our own work so we're not too knowledgeable on trustworthy shops.
This is my 2nd newer subie (had a Justy and a DX in high school) and I had a hard time finding anyone I trusted with the last one. I had an electrical issue with it that had over 30 hour of diagnostics logged with a mechanic from delta with no results. Ended up selling the car to a guy that wanted it for a project. Had a Volvo for the passed 4 years and loved the car but it was getting up there in miles when I came across the Forester. I exclusively took the Volvo (and a few VWs I had when I was younger) to Community but with the little nuances that these engines have I really want someone that knows there sh@#. Not that they don't but it doesn't seem to be their specialty. I drive a few hundred miles in a day several times a week and can't have the car out of commission for too long as it is my only vehicle which is why I was looking for someone local. I guess I may have to take a vacation up in TC when the time comes to get that belt changed.

Ya I hear what your saying. I emailed him again and said I would offer 18500 and I get eveyhing but the wingless trunk. I personally love the wing. I'd prolly sell the summer tires and get some diff ones cuz I don't like them a whole lot.

I love building my cars up, but if I can get one built I will because it saves a ton of money.

Hey I got a question, so I remember that a place called y2k imports specializes in subarus. They buy ones that have been "totaled" and rebuild them like new. Well I checked their website and saw they'd have a 2010 sti hatch coming up so I called. Turns out the car has 33k miles, is an sti, charcoal in color, and supposedly didn't have frame damage. It got the radiator housing messed up that holds the front together but no frame damage supposedly.

He said the cwr will be 22k next week and is giving me first crack at it. The car kbb for 29-32k. Like I said he's saying it will be around 22k, kid 20s at the most. Would u do it? I want to because a 2008 clean title is like 24k and this is a 2010.

If it was totaled by the insurance company you'll never get a loan for it. So if you have the cash, I'd take the car to a separate shop and get it looked at.

I have no problem buying a salvage or rebuilt title, but know that it won't sell to anyone else (because of the loan thing) and you have to pay cash.

On a different note: I swapped exhausts this morning. I hated the quiet "Winter Mode"exhaust and knew that I wanted to stay at work as long as I could tonight, so I crawled under the car at 5:30 this morning and swapped. Now I'm happy with it again.

Probably depends on the amount? My rebuilt car is financed, granted only for $10k

Seriously? I've never heard of being able to finance a car with a rebuilt title and use it as collateral. Is yours a signature loan? That's the only way I know of to finance a rebuilt car, and those are limited to around 30% of your annual gross income.
