We tried with Ewg and 23 lbs.

I had the 39 on for like two months before I ripped that pos off. It took too long to spool for me! On a 2.5 that's a different story.

I wouldn't do a Vf 39 in a 2 liter. Go for at least an 18G!
The vf39 will pry be used just because its going to be so cheap plus alot of power never tends to be my dads goal.

You complain about spool, but tell him to go 18g? I thought for sure that the 18g would take longer to spool than a vf39?

VF34 you could get 300whp, and the 39 is regarded as the same turbo except no ball bearings, so it's about 500rpm slower on the spool.

But for 320 bucks for pinks, pump, and a turbo? That's ridiculous. The pinks by themselves would sell for 200-250 all day.

Louis and Jr, I talked to Grant and he said he wants to do the swap, but he's putting together a list of what all needs to be done and he'll get back to me today whether he wants to do it at his house (cheaper, but still proper), or do it at the shop. He is going to get back to me today about it, and I'll let you guys know then what he says. He voiced a couple concerns: The ABS, Cruise, and the rear diff. The diff I already said what he said, if you can't get the subframe then we just need to get the 3.90 r160. Cruise and ABS he said may be off because of wheel sensors and speeds, but that wouldn't stop the car from being driven and could be sorted out after the fact. I'll hear what he thinks later today and post up what he says. How soon would you guys want this whole swap done?

My 18 g is a td05 and spools way quicker than that ****ty 39 and added power is a plus. Course there could have been issues with boost leaks! Anywho 20XTR and built SB is in the works. Looking for 450 or 500 or 1000atw and spools up by 2200.

Nice you guys should try to tackle it on your own. Not to hard and you could have some quality Father/Son bonding time...........translation swearing bouts and eventually wanting to kill each other.

No but seriously you Can Do It!

I second that. Like I said, even if you guys think you can't do it by yourselves there are three guys that have done the swap already that can at least offer advice.

Okay. So I have one question. Where did you get your front axles? What car did they come out of?

There is nothing wrong with a 2.0L, its just the EJ205 leaves a lot to be desired. However I love my EJ207 and if I were to build it, I may stroke it to a 2.1L.

Contact coolblue05, he regularly imports front clips. I bought the black 04 from him and he delivered it. Aron bought a shell from him and he delivered that to Aron. He is a good guy with great parts. His name is Jacob.

What are you looking to put the EJ207 into? Into your MY12 STI or do you have an older 02-05 WRX as well?

Rob and Aron: how do you have your EWG vacuum lines run? Aron, you're using a hybrid setup, and Rob you're on an aftermarket 3 port, right?

I'm confused as to what size lines I need, what ports need to be blocked/used, and where I pull pressure from. Do I use the nipple on the compressor? I tapped a 5/16 fitting in to my manifold, but looking at it now I don't think I needed to...

From what I've seen the way you have it is how you set it up for a MBC, not EBCS. EBCS is supposed to be T'd from the pressure line before the controller, the one line without the controller goes to the bottom, line with controller goes to tap.

But how do you set it up for hybrid? That's what I'll be using on this car again.
