Track prep sucks for street tires, cant drive around the water box, bikes are favored and get 5 passes to 1, street cars on "test and tune" night get the least amount of runs in even though they make up the majority of the vehicles there. Its hard to change tires and set suspension properly on a grass surface. There are ALWAYS breakdowns causing even more of a wait. No way to cool the car down and get to the lights without heat soaking the car....EVER.

One more point to make. I don't go to a track for the tasty hot dogs, slushies, or ass benches. Agreed, 131 has nicer facilities but as a racer I go to race so track prep, and staging lane wait times are more important. Also, going to T&T on a Sunday afternoon is easier for me than a Friday night T&T @ US131 filled with racers getting ready for Saturdays big event thus congesting the staging lanes even more. US131 serves alcohol too which doesn't sit right with me. How many racers have had a couple barley pops and taken their car down the strip? I don't know but I sure as hell don't want to be in the lane next to them when they do!

Backspacing? I'm looking for something that'll move the lip out a bit, and the wheel style isn't something I'm real keen on, but that's a good price. Hmm...

They have a +51 Offset, nothing that is going to push your lip out. However the price is quite good...

Yeah, not sure why I thought your car was WRB... probably because they're so damn prevalent.

Yeah but wrapped in good rubber also is a bonus.

I picked up some Rota SDRs which are a ripoff of the SSRs but in +48 offset, not my thing so they go to the Fozzy. Just need to find tires for em.

I only bought them for the track tires anywho.

Actually the Rota SDR's are a copy of the Prodrive GC-07C. However the SSR GT7 is similar.

I hope that's not really it, otherwise I'll be switching manufacturers when I look at a new car.. Unless they're swapping the FA20 w/low mount and an upgraded transmission. :/

Saw the photos -- not impressed. But, it's usually the mechanical bits that get me excited about a car so I'll hold on to hope for now. Still would like to see a hatch STI continue.

Well the low mount turbo and the FA20DIT is Subaru's new turbo setups. However no comment on anything Trans related.

I know that's the setup for the Fozzy, but I'm not sure how the package fits on a lower car like the WRX.

The JDM Legacy had the setup as the 2014 Forester XT. It actually had the setup well over a year ago.

Awesome, I didn't know that. I'll have to do some reading on that tonight.

Maybe it was all the rain we have been getting, because my clutch was grabbing really good today...maybe it isn't going bad.

Oh how I do enjoy driving the car down the road and shortly later smelling gas...my one injector decided fuel should cover the block instead of power the car :/
I just want to punch my car and go take a nap

Hey just curious, how many of you have tuned your car either through a tuner or an AP? I'm starting to look into this after hearing so many people bash the stock factory tuning and trying to decide if its worth it. My 12' is still under warranty for another 1.5 years so I don't know that I'd want to void that yet, and I only have a catback exhaust so far so a tune isn't 'needed' yet, but I do plan on further engine mods in the future where this would be necessary. Just wondering what route some of you took and how you like the results. I want something safe but I'm pretty new to this concept of tuning so I'm unsure of what path to take. I'd love to hear some of your testimonials.

As of right now I'm leaning towards the Cobb AP with the maps they provide as it seems pretty simple and, from what I understand, you can easily choose what mods you have and it tunes appropriately. I'm also not aware of any professional tuners in the area. Is a professional dyno type tune necessary in the long run or is something like the Cobb AP fine when you're only running a few mods? Like I said I only have a catback exhaust right now (perrin) but plan on getting a downpipe/up pipe probably and who knows what else in the future, but nothing TOO crazy I don't think as this is my daily driver and I'd like it to run safely. What can I say, I'm new to this!

Thanks for your help

@ninja

If your good with computers and have a laptop and are willing to have little support opensource is great and alot cheaper then a access port. On both of our cars we run access ports with cheap custom e-tunes thats made more for our exact car around $150-200 I am not a fan of the OTS maps while they make decent power I have always had some kind of knock or stuffer.

While I am definitely good with computers and have a laptop I am NOT very good with cars quite yet. Tuning the engine scares me! I've heard of what you're suggesting but haven't read too much into it yet. Thanks for the input though, I'd like to hear more about this approach. Maybe I can talk to some of you in person at a meet here soon and get some details.

You won't be doing the tuning, but you do need to be able to install 3 programs, open them and your map, and select specific logging parameters (check boxes, and your tuner will tell you what he wants logged).

I don't suggest the OTS tunes that COBB offers because they're just like a factory tune: made to run on ANY vehicle, in ANY weather, under ANY conditions. The OTS tunes give you some extra power, are generally more safe than the lean factory tune, but leave a lot to be desired (from what I've heard).

If you get a Pro Tune, and I suggest you do, the process is very similar between the COBB AP or the Tactrix. One of the nice things about the Tactrix is that it doesn't marry to your car, so you can borrow one of ours to tune your car, and you're not out any money.

Aron and I used Ron from PhatBotti, and neither of us were pleased with his communication skills. The tune he did for my car (pretty much stock, but it had an UP, Turbo Back, bigger injectors, intake, and boost controller) was great, but Aron's car is a bit more involved and he wasn't happy with the results.

I've heard that STi_Mikey of PhatBotti I'd better, and is be willing to try him, but there are a bunch of other reputable tuners that the locals use. Talking to us in person is a lot easier than explaining everything via text (although it seems like I'm trying to anyways, haha).

If any if you are looking for a factory roof rack for an 08+ WRX, I have one I just picked up that I want to sell. I like the Yakima setup better. I know I should make a classified ad, but I don't want to ship this. I got a good deal on it, and I will pass that on to anyone that wants one, so PM me.

And has anybody here ever installed a Perrin strut bar on an 08+? It should be the easiest mod ever to install, but it rubs the plastic on the firewall on my car pretty bad in a couple spots. Not exactly what I expected from that company, I am wondering if that is common.
