Lol. ... well, yeah. That's an expensive mock block.

Didn't someone make a polymer based block for doing this!?

Are there any good tuning shops in the area? I just moved out here from metro Detroit and don't know who is good and who isn't.

Drive to Chicago. Its 3 hours for safe power.

Deal with local tuners spend 3 hours trying to get your money back for junk tune.

I'm stirring the pot but completely serious at same time
Travisty had good luck with local , Shortmanbk did not.

Yeah, but getting my guy to tune your junk is basically impossible.

I'd suggest either an e-tune or hit up Jr at P&L.

Cheap and never did me any wrong ill stand by him forever.....

P&L on the other hand is great/pry the best but won't even pick up the phone or answer a email when your trying to get them to build a motor, can't see how getting a tune would be any easier. Personally I stay away from shops like that just because they must not need the business.

They are extremely busy right now, as is MPS, the reputable motor building shops have a long lead time right now, you popped your motor during race season

I still haven't even gotten a price back on mine, but I also told them I didn't need it till February.

I'm talking multiple time through the year I have tried to contact them with no luck of getting a reply. But oh well doesn't make a difference it's miata time now. $3600 for a built longblock ftw...

No extra.

The dealership pays a secondary/outside warranty provider, then if you have something die on the car 20 years down the road (and you're the original owner, and can prove that it was manufacturer defect/not because of your mods), you pay a 250 deductible and they drop in OEM parts.

It's a gimmick really, only because no one keeps their cars.

Well hurry up and buy one! I'm eager to compare a Miata to the BRZ.

I've been on the forum since about may and have posted a few times but haven't really introduced myself or my ride so I'm finally getting around to it. This is my 05 wrx wagon

I've got an uppipe, downpipe, crossoverpipe, full 3in exhaust and is lowered 2in. It was bought not built but i'm saving up some money to do a bit more building on it. The wheels are varrstoen te37 reps and will eventually be white. If I can make it i'll be at perrin tonight to me some of you guys.

Car looks good man! Are you on coils or springs?

I swear I've seen your car around before... It helps that it's not a common color for the car or wheels.

Hopefully we see you tonight.

Travis,

How are you enjoying your BRZ? Would come hangout at Perrin and chat all about it, but will be at Olde Peninsula tonight in Kalamazoo for their Pumpkin Ale Release today

I have honestly never enjoyed driving a car as much as I do this one.

It's slow, but I don't care. During the test drive I really enjoyed the handling, but driving it for an extended period has me head over heels for it.

I wish it was a bit quicker, but not much honestly. The brakes are my biggest complaint, but only because they're rather numb. They're immediate and plenty powerful, but I can't quite feel where the pedal is at ever. It also feels a bit like a stepper motor: Sometimes I feel like I want just a little extra brake power, so I step on the pedal a little bit, but that's too much power so I let off a little, and it lets off a little too much...

The transmission is also notchy in the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. Apparently that's a problem most people are having, and I know Toyota has a TSB for that issue but I don't think Subaru has one yet.

Dealing with it as a daily would be fine, but the car has MASSIVE blindspots behind the B-pillar. I'll need to get used to relying on my mirrors more, and doing head-checks less.

The touch screen head unit is OK at best. The touch buttons require multiple touches often, and they always react slowly. Sound quality is stellar throughout, and the navigation is thorough and works well.

One of my biggest stupid-gripes is that the headlights, in their auto-light sensing mode, don't shut off when you turn the car off/walk away with the fob. All of my Subaru cars have always done that, and it sucks that I have to turn the knob back every time now. :'(
