Default 10.92 at 130.79....but not in a suby!

I hope you guys dont mind me posting this thread that doesnt involve a subaru. I'm a hardcore subaru enthusiast, and have owned 8.5 of them, haha! I plan to own many more in the future.

After I sold my 04 STi last year, I picked up a new 08 Z06. Naturally I had to take her to the strip after a few mods....headers, cold air intake, and a cam.

(crappy cameraman, fast forward to 55 secs)

60ft is a beyotch in this thing, but I managed a 1.81 which put me into the 10's. She has a lot more potential, but I'm not gonna push it. She put down 535/495 corrected, roughly 100whp over stock. even though my sti ran .005 better (10.87 at 127mph, 1.6 60ft), she would have been violently raped by my Z. I barely get out of 3rd gear in the qtr mile, and 4th gear goes to almost 160mph .

anyway, hope you guys find some enjoyment out of this, thanks!

Exactly the reason why I will be driving a Vette when I move from Manhattan to the suburbs.

Just unreal performance per dollar. The z06 and even base c6 can't be beat.

the 2008 LS3 is an amazing car.... headers + paxton Novi = 562whp/501tq compared to my 538/495 headers/cam/intake Z06. However, I am 260lbs lighter and redline at 7k instead of 6500

not much quicker, head porting only picks up 20-30whp, and there are no noteworthy aftermarket heads yet. I was at the track with my friend that has the same mods with the addition of MTI ported heads (makes 22whp more than me, same tuner & dyno), and his best pass was an 11.2 at 131, 2.0 60ft (mt dr's). obviously he didnt get the most out of his car, but the diff in power wasnt drastic.

I'll probably port the heads, but that's it. I can keep the stock clutch and fueling system at my levels, maintain excellent driveability.

thanks!

Burnin,

I just wanted to compliment you and congradulate you on both cars. A few months after i bought my 07, i saw your STi for sale. If i had seen your car before my purchase, i would have been down in Florida the next day.

have fun with the vette, its an amazing car!!

There's something to be said for this... When you mod any given car to within a inch of it's life, it just doesn't drive all that well anymore imo.

There's that sweet spot where you get a lot of the power, but don't still have a car that starts and runs like a stock car, and that I think is what many go for after owning a car that had was probably a little over the edge, so to speak, with more aftermarket parts on than stock parts

Do you have any cosmetic mods planned at all, or are you just leaving it as is?

probably not, but possibly some ZR1 repro wheels. I might do a ZR1 rear color matched wing, but that's about it. there are a lot more interesting things to do to a scooby as far as cosmetic upgrades goes.

for once, I am content with my car, haha.
