Default Starting my STi swap in CT - Any Helpers?

Just woke up to a beautiful day, and tomorrow will be too so decided the time has come. I know it's kinda short notice, but anybody wanna come help out, drink some beers and do some wrenching?

07 STi limited swap into my 00 RS coupe. The wiring harness is merged so everything should be plug and play. I have an engine hoist, air tools, etc. so I don't NEED help, but it would be cool. Plus I like meeting new people, especially suby fans.

Hit me up on my cell - 203-508-0529

Oh, and I'm on the shoreline, in Guilford.

Nick

yeah, kinda far... thanks tho buddy. I should have the sti motor out of the donor car in about 45 min to an hour. The wiring harness is what I'm scared of. Probably gonna have to pull 2 dashboards. Oh well.

ok, time to get to work. If anyone is down, and I don't answer cell, it's probably because I'm covered in oil, grease, coolant, p/s fluid, brake fluid, etc. so leave a message

Default update:

Got the STi motor from the donor car stripped, and ready to come out first thing in the AM. Got off to a late start due to the intense hangover. The N/A motor should come out of the recipient in no time. Tomorrow I should have the crossmember and sti rack swapped, and the new motor dropped in. Then the wiring harness nightmare begins... :bitehard:

Here's a few pics:

Donor car:

Reason for the swap:

Engine I'm keeping:

Engine going into the classified section soon:

And some shots of the progress:

in a nutshell... The way I wanted the body work done, which was to also respray the entire car, would have been 8 grand easy. Plus I had been hit before once by a doctor in a bmw. Rear pass qtr panel (same one) was replaced and it was never the same. Creaks, rattles, and the paint never matched perfectly, not to me anyway. Silverthorn is hard to match right. SO: the stock one popped up right near my job, one adult female owner, with lower mileage and NO body work necessary. Besides, swapping is WAY MORE FUN!

Anyway, on with some updates:

both motors are out, both sways, p/s racks and crossmembers are out. The sti crossmember is in the new car. I think before the ej257 goes in I'm gonna try to swap the harnesses, so I can get in and work right by the firewall.

Here's a few more pics of the progress:

U know where I got it buddy, remember, I worked there with u? I think I "won" it at the christmass party or something. Where was it again? Calypso? Anyway, I'm sure I'll be down to visit this week in need of various parts.

Default another update

Got the turbo crossmember bolted in this morning. Pulled both dashboards, and wiring harnesses. Got the properly merged harness into the car, put the dash beam back on, and got most of the wiring connectors plugged back in. Then swapped over the drive-by-wire gas pedal, swapped my Walbro fuel pump over and a few other things... It's getting kinda late, but I might go back out to the garage to re-install the steering column and a few other loose ends. Sorry for no pics today, but I'm feeling lazy.

Anyone with free time is still welcome to come by, hang out and help out.

Nick

Don't know about the old shell yet. Probably re-assemble and sell, or maybe part-out. We'll see....

Ok, little help please. I'm almost ready to test fire the engine, but I have no clue where these two coolant lines go. From the overflow over the airbox and down toards the radiator shown here: Anyone?

I am very interested in your STM hood and front bumper cover if you're selling.
