Pull a wheel off and see how much pad you have left. back in the day, my STi was doing the same thing, but mine was to the point it would do it all the time, whether I was braking or not.

I'll have to take a look at that. Didn't even think to check the brake pads. Spent half the evening trying to get the fill/drain plugs off the rear differential, they wouldn't budge. So, after giving up on that, I changed the oil and finally got a chance to mow my lawn.

I know better than to speed up in the Wausau area, the Troopers up there are pricks. Oh well. That's what I get for driving like a dumb ass.

There is that one trooper in Wausau with the red Charger. I hear he is a hard axx.

Put some rust penetrant on those drain and fill plugs and let it settle in for a day or so.

Where is the car show at in Wausau?

Thats Trooper Fox usually, but he switches up cars form time to time. The have a completely normal looking Ford 500 now. Its burgandy and looks like a regular persons car.....watch out for it.

The car show in Wausau is at Dales Weston Lanes on Sunday. I think we are headed there at about 8am, but I am not 100% sure yet. If anyone wants to come, or is coming, and wants to meet up, PM me for my phone number.

Did a compression test on the WRX last night.....

Front
80 130
120 130

I guess that explains why it was burning oil

I was always getting pulled over for no front plate and tint going to work down by Oxford. But I was usually in my work uniform, so they don't hassle me.

I just needed some more leverage... Let PB Blaster sit for 24 hours then broke out my 17" breaker bar which did the job nicely.

The cruise was awesome as usual. 700 or so cars.

Late night action rocked too. Can't wait for next year.

Upcoming events: Lapping day at USAIR this Sunday 8-15.

Anyone know of a guy/place that can recalibrate a stock WRX ecu to manage the ej257 around the area? My plan was to haul the car to P&L in Chicago but I'm never going to get around to doing that, too much hassle. I could even ship the ecu out to have it done, at least enough to get the car running safely and then drive it to Chicago later.

I spoke with the guys from Subyshop in Appleton awhile back and he said he can get the car running but has never tuned with the Utec Delta. Let me know of any ideas...

Well that would have been my idea haha, talk to Clint.

Can you ship it to DS1 or P&L? Beyond Redline?

There is also a place in MN called RS Motors (i think thats it) I know they do a lot of soobie work.

Can you still flash the ecu with opensource or is that utec delta a piggy back thing. I could put you in contact with the guy that tuned my Legacy. He could probably get it going by doing an remote e-tune. His name is Shamar, or Infamous1 on the legacygt.com forum. I think he might be on here also. http://www.infamoustuning.com/index.html

Well if I can get away with flashing the ecu and eliminating the utec I'd be all for that.

The problem I have is because the ecu is for wrx 2.0L I cannot even attempt to start the car with it until it's recalibrated to run a 2.5L and fuel/timing settings that go with it.

Anyone have experience with Clint or Subyshop?

I have zero experience in tuning so I have no idea when it comes to open source or what not.

What all was involved with the remote tuning?

You'd just need a cable to plug into the ecu and download some software for a laptop. It isn't hard really. If I can do it you should be able too. Email Infamous and ask him if he can even do the swapped engine. I'm sure that he could.

10-3-2010 Autocross

9am - 10am Registration
10:30am - Drivers meeting

Location: Golden Sands Speedway
10992 State Hwy. 54
Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494

Information on the track:

http://www.gssraces.com/

We set up a pretty fast course on the steep banked oval so most cars will get into 3rd gear and a techincal section towards the finish line. Sandtraps and berms before anything solid to hit making for a car friendly location where it possible to push your car and driving to the limit without the worry of smashing your ride.

Night event:

6pm - 6:45pm: Registration
7:00pm: Drivers meeting.

I'm kind of guessing on the times here and may have to adjust this as to when the sun sets and it gets dark.

An autocross in the dark. The cars headlights will be needed to light up the course making for a challenging event. Cones will have reflective tape and only one car on the course at a time.

Cost: $15 for CWSCC or FVSCC members. $25 for non-members.

If you ran the day event: $5 for CWSCC or FVSCC members. $10 for non-members.

Amount of timed runs will depend on turnout, but it most likely will be less than the amount gotten during the day.

I plan on attending this event but I need to figure out what the hell is wrong with my suspension. I'm working on it now but if its actually a bad part not sure I'll have it and installed by then.

Hopefully.
