ok I keep getting mixed and confusing info on what would be best to do.
ok my wrx wagon is a daily driver. Yet I would love more power near the 300whp marker would be ideal. Legal or well hidden is idea.
So I have been looking at the ej207 swap. First looked at Gruppe-s. Yet found to be a unreliable vendor. Yet how good of an option is this really?
Looked at the hybrid. Many potential problems and out of control costs.
Looked at long block. Short life likely. Likely to cost to much.
So based on my budget. What whould you do?

Gruppe-s rebuild kit for 899 (helix rods, cp pistons and arp rod bolts if i remember correctly)
gasket set for probably 250-500
have a known performance shop assemble engine and get block honed 700-1000 for a good price
Prices may vary
That's what I plan on doing when the time comes anyways

If your only looking for around 300whp I would just get a low milage 205, they are more than capable to produce the power your looking for in stock internal form.
