Axles went in yesterday. Vibration is gone. However LOL when they swapped them the trans lost a lot of the Redline Lightweight Shockproof synthetic gear oil $12.00 a quart. I had to take my friends car on a hour and 45 minute drive to buy more. Once there I decided to get two new front rotors because the tech showed me that my slots were all but gone and filled with rust. I picked up Power Slots this time. So my warranty work free of charge day turned into $228. Yay for modding perfectly good cars that aren't paid off yet!!!

They wouldn't be if the only the shaft itself is thicker.. the spline area is likely the same count and diameter as the original.
On axle shafts inside a straight axle, having one area thicker than another actually puts more stresses on the thinner area, making the shaft weaker overall. (Known as "necked down shafts")

A friend, not a professional tuner. He was trained by the guy who did my stage 1 tune though, a man named Dom. Open Source.

Start with simple things, snorkusectomy, panel filter replacement (K&N, Perrin, whatever), Stock engine reflash or a catback with a reflash. I had the car for a month before I did my brakes, but only 5 days before I threw my 04 STi seats in and debadged it. Pinstripes were only on the car for 24 hours.

Wait, that's the unicorn? My local subaru parts manager has one undergoing...'work'. Not only is it a used full 3", but it's got a Prodrive muffler. Baja+Prodrive? Like Redbull and Jager.

I'm in upstate NY, my exhaust is holding up fine so far this winter. Only the hangers have a little rust on them.

Oh man, it's incredible. More gas mileage, more power, less lag. The 1st reflash made the Cruck seem like it was powered by a small V6 in the low RPMs and a turbo V6 past 3000. With the CBE and 2nd reflash...It feels like a small V8.

Even if the only things you do is log and slightly adjust fuel trim, It's worth the cost of the 70 dollar cable.

Unhappy

My re-tune has been postponed for a while. my tuner inadvertantly bought a STOLEN motor from E-BAY. As soon as it arrived he was contacted by detectives from Florida. He's cooperating 100% and not in any trouble at least. His credit card company gave him some crap but finally reversed the transaction. I hope it gets resolved soon. I've been anticipating more boost for a while now.

oh my god man, hopefully things go well. It's not a 257 is it? There was a blue GF wagon on here not too long ago, my friend built it. 2 owners later, it got stolen in Jersey and was involved in 2 armed robberies. The cops could not keep up in anything they had.

Nope. Car was originally registered in Florida according to the guy who's tuning the Baja...hopefully. LOL

You're just having a ton of bad luck aren't you? I went to a vendor show (like a mini SEMA) and asked about stuff for your Baja. I got a bunch of crazy looks .

Finally some GOOD news! 1). I had the pesky top speed limiter pulled from the ECU over the weekend. 2). The baja passed emissions for another year this morning. 3). I can now go to any tuner I want since I got the correct map put back on the ECU. I lost a little power with the stock map since my UTEC map was built off of the locked one that I was stuck with for a while. However I'm not too upset since now I'll be able to get the Baja tuned right. Yayyy!

Good news is GONE . LOL I now have a new driveline vibration. It can't be the front axles.. since I just had them replaced. I doubt it's anything in the rear since I had the tech check out the back while it was on the lift. If I had to guess I'd say I'm losing a U-Joint in the driveshaft or something in the center diff. I'll keep you posted as the carnage continues.

I think it might have been an ice accumulation somewhere under the truck. Possibly in a rim. It was shaking pretty bad on the way home from work last night. Soooo...... in my infinate pissed off wisdom..... I stopped and slowly went to 2000 rpm in first and went wide open to the 7000 rpm redline. I felt something hit underneath the truck and the vibration is gone now. Weird.

What is the Max speed? Just curious, I don't think my Baja's going anywhere near the drag-limited true maximum speed anytime soon, But I dunno where the ECU is set.

My 05 turbo was limited to 135 MPH in the ECU from the factory.

My limit is now 166 as I have it closing throttle before the rev limiter kicks in at 7,100 RPM in 5th.
