I thought the Unlimiteds started with the JKs?

They may look a little weird, but they're more convenient to live with and to lift as the rear driveshaft angle doesn't get out of hand as much as a standard wheelbase TJ.

I dunno, if you want any utility you either get an LJ or plan on having a small trailer. I will say I think that a small trailer is very very nice to have around.

I've thought about this. it is not like the 5' or 6' bed in a small pickup is useful for TRULY outsize things anyways.

it is nice to have somewhere to throw random **** that isn't inside the cabin though.

Well I have my own 4x7 Tractor Supply $399 trailer. I also have access to a larger 5x9 if I need it.

For other stuff I have a $50 Tractor Supply hitch mount thingy. It's great as long as you aren't headed out serious wheeling with it.

Anyone see the JK Unlimited that MBRP is building? 5.9L Cummins 12v diesel(twin turbo), 44" Pitbull Rockers, Dana 60HP front end/Dana 70HD rear end with portals all around....that thing is a freaking monster.

That is Fing recockulous.

I've been piecing together a lift for my WJ and snagged some IRO 4" springs and rubicon express monotubes from a jeepforum member. Still have a couple more things to pick up, but I'm getting close.

Going to give it a shot on stock arms, but if I need adjustables I'm just going to jump straight to long arms in the front. Does fine the way it sits now (about 2.5"), but we'll see. 4" seems to be the tipping point on these.

Also comes complete with a block of wood to prevent it from rolling away while you park, can be yours for only $150k

The block of wood would have to be the size of a mini-fridge to keep that thing from rolling over it.

Psst: there actually already is a block of wood in many of the posted photos. It's not a hypothetical.

Hahaha, I missed that. Park that thing on a hill and watch the carnage as it rolls down!

LOL at all you guys. It's not done being built so the brakes or drive train wasn't hooked up or anything to keep it from rolling away. They have said that they fully intend on wheeling it and they're planning on taking it to Moab sometime this year. All those pics were right before SEMA where they had it on display. As of last week they didn't even have the body on the frame.

The original build thread on Jeep Forum can be read here...

It's also too wide for some of the trails I take my truck on.

It would suck if you got a flat tire and needed to grab that HUGE & HEAVY spare from 18' in the air! The only thing that would suck more than taking the spare down is putting the spare back up there!

The portals only make it worse I imagine. And as rallyroo already said, it wouldn't fit through most of the trails that I use.

I finally got around to opening the box that arrived while I was on vacation.

TRACTION!

Detroit for the rear and Spartan for the front. Also picked up a solid pinion spacer and new seal. As soon as I can find time I'll get them installed along with a new steering box and pump to get rid of the leaks. Next month I'll be ordering sliders and a high clearance transfer case crossmember. My Moab trip is coming up sooner than I realized and I still have more I need to buy.

I also need to buy a new radiator, anyone here have a Built Tough Radiator? I've read a few good things about them but don't know anyone with first hand experience. And would the 3 row radiator benefit my monster 3.0L V6 with 150hp or is the 2 row all I'll need?

Cores dont matter so much much. Jeeps usually onyl build up excess heat at offroad slow speeds... and then the best thing you can do to reduce heat is have venting installed in your hood.

Get a good quality aluminum with alum ends...tig welded. Itll last forever.

Had really good luck with these guys when I bought mine. A+ quality stuff and very helpful.

They dont list everything on thier site, you need to call.

http://www.alumrad.com/

Oh and your gonna hate that trash lock Can we say clicky clicky clicky BLAM!. If you do that.. I can not emphasize enough how much a hub conversion would make you much happier with that up front when on the street.
