uhh....the CF is real The only "hard plastic" are the base of the armrests under the leather. The E550 Coupe interior was in no way nicer, IMHO, though it was more understated. The Garmin NAV is far better than the MB NAV both in ease of use and navigation.

I just drove my 1983 Scrambler from Denver to San Francisco with pit stops in Moab and Tahoe. I feel and look like I just rode a horse for four days.

That Scrambler is hot.

I am totally happy with the new fenders.. Here are some better flex shots with the Metalcloaks now that PB is cooperating.

Got out this weekend with the guys from Exploring NH. Jeep performed awesome, it's a beast I needed to find something harder ...

Steering box is pissing like a nervous puppy, need to get that fixed ASAP.

The Open Country MT's need to go to like 8psi to flex, it takes about a week to air them back up.

soup stuck in between two large bars of clay

Damn tires evidently chuck a lot of ground far distances, which when driving poorly (like i did) lead to this. lol At least i got to use my bubba rope!

Ended up getting an Unlimited Rubicon. They could not for the life of them find a sport with the 3.73 gears and really, the Rubi is what I wanted anyways. They messed up and put a color matched top on instead of the black one so I got that little upgrade for free. I didn't really want it but its growing on me. Also, its the Black Forest green, looks black in the shade but in the sunlight is definately green, I love it.

Not all of it, no. Although that would have made it an even more epic trip. Picture Snoopy the WW1 Flying Ace complete with goggles and scarf.

Around town and for 99% of the last four years I have driven it with the windshield down, but for this trip it was up except for in/around Moab, in/around Tahoe, and just before the Golden Gate Bridge. I had the soft top up (no windows) for the majority of the time and then typically dropped the top later in the day. Otherwise the sun was just too hot.

I could spend hours on Pirate looking at some of the builds.

From a Jeeper's perspective the ingenuity and technical aptitude of some of the builders is awe-inspiring. From an engineer's perspective the ingenuity and technical aptitude of some of the the builders is frightening! But all kidding aside, and much more often than not, I'm just amazed at the skills the guys have.

Finally got a few friends to abandon their laziness and take their rigs out for some mountain/wash trail fun.

The cameraphone pic makes the tires look like they are bald, but they have plenty of tread. None of them believed the tires had 0 psi in them since my rig is much heavier than their Wranglers/Samurais....so I had to push a little pebble into the valve stem to show them no air would hiss out.

I have over 50k miles of hard trails on these tires without a single flat, and when I'm feeling lazy myself, I don't even air them up for the pavement ride home.

I'm assuming they're bias tires which have a stiffer sidewall than radial. I wouldn't recommend driving like that on the road for any length of time (especially if I had my family with me) since I'm sure they're getting pretty damn hot with no air in them.

Well.. most folks without beadlocks stay in the 10-12 psi range.

Mushy understeer hell on the road.

Yeah, my Open Country MT's like about 8psi offroad, on the road that makes for some squishy driving.
