Part of me thinks it's to leverage use of my vehicle -- they haven't updated their site since 2009 and the photos are a tad outdated.
The other part of me thinks it's to save them the shipping cost.

If they want pics for their site I'd let them install it for free and clean my Heep up I guess.

my 08 has the sat/nav unit with the factory infinity system. overall i always thought the system sounded like complete ass. ive always had aftermarket stereos in all my other vehicles, but i was holding off till the sirius subscription the previous owner had ran out.
i had a double din dvd pioneer head unit from my 08 sti sitting in my closet and it finally got installed. HOLY CRAP, it sounds so good now. i knew that changing out the head unit would make it sound better, but had no idea the factory speakers had that much potential. for factory they sound pretty damn awesome. i really dont feel the need to add aftermarket speakers now. the install was a bit of a pain. you have to actually cut some of the plastic dash (its covered and out of sight by the little panel above the headunit) as well as a piece of the metal frame directly behind where the headunit sits. and, like a doucebag, i didnt take any pics as i was going. once i got working i completely forgot to. ![]() |

Land Cruiser 80 should be the top of that list, definitely above the 3 that beat it

I think the rationalization for dropping the 80 makes sense. I mean... the D90 isn't on the list for what I believe to be similar reasons (as the LC80) plus similar issues as the older Discos.

So it doesn't have a solid front axle, but this is "exploring" the world, not hardcore off-roading. Though the 80 is definitely more "field" serviceable. I mean I love everything about my 80, but the thing is an absolutely pig compared to the 100...especially mine is armored up front to back, dual swingouts, sliders, front bumper, and I've laid off from other heavy accessories like dual batteries, oversized tires, winch...etc. I'm not far off from 6,000lbs. |

Ditch the rack then, Wheatfjord. I used to be able to fit my TJ in my work garage on 36" swampers with 6" of lift, as long as I stopped outside and put the soft top down first (the middle bow sits up higher than everything else). |
