Subaru Stars 04 STi 11.71 @ 116 *Stock Turbo Record*

Congrats to Roly once again. Last night he ran four 11.7 passes in his 2004 STi. His car was tuned by Miguel Alcrudo JR from Auto Plaza Tuners (APT).

As some of you know he recently broke the stock turbo record with an 11.75 pass. Last night he certified the previous runs and back them up multiple times. There still a lot of stuff that can be done to the car (especially on the drivetrain).

Videos and slips coming soon.

Can we say mid to low 11's soon stock turbo?

Edit- Slips

The consistency is amazing.

Now this is a true 11 second stock turbo car.

Only if everyone else could back up their times and legitimize these times.

Well,

I think downsti will come out this year and try to surprise some people. I can see him backing himself up, may just take a little while to get back into the groove.

My boy CTracer will never get back to legitimize his 11.9 run with just intake/exhst. He left the shop and has no interest in this stuff anymore. I can tell you we were dyno'd back to back and his car could have gone faster.
But after only one track day he blew his clutch and never wanted to go back.

As far as running 11.71-12.0 like 1298734 times in a row, only Roly could do this

Thumbs up

Just to give a few more details

mods:

Intake (now it's running a Hot air intake )
Headers
Uppipe W/ EWG

Turboback
MBC
Ecutek tune on @ 24 psi on C16 by Alcrudo JR
Stock clutch (Slipping already)
Nitto Drag tires

It still has the stock turbo inlet and TMIC

The first time it ran 11.9 @ 112 it didn't have the items in bold. With those mods the car is around 350WHP and 400 lb/ft of torque on a dynojet (clutch slipping on the dyno).

With a clutch, better tires, TMIC, weight reduction (a la evo hehe) and some heads and cams I wonder if that little turbo can hit 120 in the 1/4. (I seen cars run 10.9 with 119-120 mph traps) Obviously the key for these awesome times is Roly's great driving.

Well Congrats to Roly! I believe the biggest gain comes from the great attitude, He's always in a good mood not trying to compare with others just racing vs himself. Thats the main reason I decided to help him on his goal when he approached me. I'm honored for the trust he gave me to work on his ECU and he have allowed me to work it without any opinions. I started explaining him what I was doing and he just looked at me and said I trust you. He's a excellent human being! Credits to this great Subaru community for the positive complements to his achievements and I look forward to this guys that had similar results to keep improving, we wich them the best of luck!

Absolutely. Any stock turbo sti has the capability to make this kind of power, but many variables exist. You have to tune the chit out of the car, and drive the chit out of the car. Many tuners refuse to leave the realm of 21-22 psi and 25ish degrees of tiing upstairs. This is why this power is a rare occurance.

I hope these guys do heads and cams. This was something on my agenda but future plans changed.

Sure, any stock turbo STi can make equal or close power with a good tune, but don't discount the quote below. That is a VERY light STI. Even if Roly only weighs 130, that still makes it a 2970 lb car. For reference, my 2.0/5mt WRX with trunk empty, back seats out, next to no gas and JDM bumper beam still weighs over 3000. Like I said before when everybody was talking about building their own 10 sec 18g cars after xdrian's accomplishment, the only way it can be done is to go as far or further in weight reduction as the original, which is probably further then most are willing to go. Everybody knows how great a driver Roly is, so it looks like to have a shot at his time the chasers need to get the weight down and hope you get some REALLY good cold weather.
