Default When Do I Need A Tune?

As of right now I am stock and untuned. I am getting a cobb intake and an HKS exhaust soon and was wondering do I need/want a tune with just those mods?

you don't NEED a tune with those mods, but a tune on a stock car makes a performance difference regardless.

I would look into a downpipe of some sort and then thinking about taking advantage of a professional tune. However, as kbcr3 mentioned already, you don't need a tune.

Depends, if you get a Catback exhaust, you don't, if you get a full turboback, you need a tune.

Cobb, SPT, and K&N do not change air/fuel ratios, so they don't run the car lean. This is because of the piping diameter. There may be other intakes, but I just said popular ones.

The cobb intake, along with a couple select others, do not alter the tubing diameter, or the amount of air ingested as compared to the stock airbox. They are claimed to not create a lean condition, and therefore do not need a tune.

Hold off on the intake and spend that money on purchasing a downpipe

This ^, a catless up-pipe (if you don't have one already), and a cross-over. Then find someone local who does opensource tunes and be done with it.
