Default 04 STi Stage 2 on Base Map Tune...12.63 and 109 MPH

No it was not a typo at that i put and instead of @ haha. The car ran a best E/T of 12.63 but at only 108 mph while the run before it did a 12.67 at a 109. I let the car cool down for a while before the 109 run and being that i sat out of the car for a little while my launch wasn't nearly as good (1.83 60'). Im extremely pleased with how she did at the track, i was only hoping for high 12's at best considering i was only on my base map and it was my first time taking this car to the drag strip but the times kept coming down. If i would have had one more hour i know i would have gotten 12.5's, if the car was at the temp it was at to run the 109 mph trap and i was good enough to cut my low 1.7 60's that i was doing all day then i would have had 12.5's haha. Oh well, until next time.

Unfortunately (not uncommon to 04-05's) my 5th gear synchro blows so that's always my slow shift, i think i could knock a couple thousandths off the e/t if that wasn't the case. Anywho the car put down 272 AWHP Six Sigma's Dyno Dynamics (typically 20% lower then a Dyno Jet). I have a custom header being made for the car and will get a full dyno tune after that. Should be able to pick up atleast 10WHP with just tweaking the current set up, hoping for a total of 20WHP with the header installed and tuned. Hope to be knocking on the door of the quickest pump gas VF39 cars after all is said and done. I think after the tune and header that 12.4's aren't out of the question and the quickest on the list here on Nasioc shows a 12.30 so i might have to ditch some interior pieces for a couple runs

My best 60' of the day was a 1.731 which was slightly quicker then what i pulled on my quickest E/T run. I think with a couple more times at the strip i can manage 1.6's but i was quite pleased with my launches for my first time out there in this car (and first time with AWD). I cut consistent 1.7's all day long.

Nice runs, and dyno numbers which actually make sense. About 350bhp at the flywheel given 22% drivetrain losses. Rather than 340awhp which a mustang dyno would create, meaning 430odd flywheel horse power. Glad to see some real numbers for once.

Its already a 12.40 car dude. 108-109 traps are plenty good for it. Your driving was good, but there is much left in the short time, possibly even a tenth and a half to the 1.8th.

Fine tuning and a manifold will help hold power out a tad bit longer. 12.19 is the fastest stock turbo time on pump but it was done with a gutted out 07 and the tune was pretty aggressive.

Roly actually went 11.9 with his 04 splashing a gallon of 100 octane on top of a quarter tank of 93.

Any plans for a race gas tune?

Looks like you have all the info in your first post. When you have time please rearrange it into the proper format found here. Thanks.

Ok sorry about the format, I'm on my phone right now so when I get back to my computer I'll rearrange it.

Thanks for the comments guys, like I said I was extremely happy with the way she performed, da was 2500 so it wasn't the bes quality day, but she still ran well. Next time I'll definitely bring some ice for heat soak because out of the 8 runs I made a few of them only trapped 106-107, I wasn't as used to drag racing a turbo car, this was the first time I had done it but she trapped 109 after I took about a 45-55 minute break.

With the header we're making we're hoping for a bit more power up top, might gain a little lag but hell, it's a vf39 haha. Also won't hurt to drop a few more pounds from the header. Might buy a lightweight battery between now and the next TNT so maybe that'll be about 40 or so more pounds off the car.

As far as zmax goes, all of last year there were a lot of unhappy people. I used to have a trans am but I still didn't drag race much, my friends that did though hated it because it wouldn't hook for ****. Us AWD guys don't really have that much problem haha. But last Saturday was different, everyone really was coming out of the hole hard and my friend made his first 11 second pass after cutting a 1.604 60' in his camaro w/ 275 radials. So maybe it is starting to improve.

I do hope they have another TNT, my friend that works there said that they were going to have some sort of "street racing" event, not the same as they did last year but they supposedly will give out awards for best 60's, best trap, stuff like that. But I'll probably go since it'll just be more track time haha.

So what do you guys think? With the tune, the header, and maybe a 1.6 short time and if the stars really align some good air you think 12.30's are out of the question

I'll have to post my dyno from my base map, it's far from perfect but we haven't had a chance to really tune it at all since I out the 3 port on it, I'm lucky it's as good as it is with his base map haha.
