Default WRX exhaust on GC swap

ok so i know this is a common question and i tried to search a little but its kinda vague search terms.

anyways my v3 swap in a 93 impreza needs an exhaust. it already has a 3" invidia downpipe. can i just use an ebay 3" catback made for a WRX? neighbor has one that was on his 04/05 sti and he's selling. would it work? or is there something special i should know about a turbo exhaust on a gc8 body?

i was gonna buy his since i'm sure it couldnt be TOO different, but i dont want to be stuck with a $250 exhaust that doesnt fit and i cant use

If you have a US downpipe, Any US Impreza EX will fit. There is only a problem if you run the JDM downpipe.

Hey I have an ebay 3" cat back that was custom fitted for the GC chassis that I need to get rid of. I am near Tacoma, if you ever make your way up north, it would be an easy pickup.

Let me know,
Rob

Besides one hanger point not matching up, I had interference with the stock rear diff protector and my tow hitch (don't laugh, actually one of my favorite mods ). Also since my ebay exhaust was the one with an angled outlet, it didn't fit right against the bumper.

I paid a shop to modify it to have a straight exit and fit properly. I was happy with the end result. I picked up a Fujitsubo replacement to tone down the sound level for my long commutes, that's why I have my old one for sale.

TurboXS DP, race pipe and midpipe with a Skunk 2 axle back - all off a WRX. I did have to pay $20 to have the Skunk 2 flange welded so it would mate to the TXS midpipe - but that's what happens when you mix and match exhaust parts. All the hangers points matched up but I did have to use the longer hangers.
