A while back, a Explorer bumped my new WRX from behind. It left a small 'coin sized' dent in the bumper cover that isn't very noticeable due to its location. My car had just over 1k miles on it.
![]() Now, 500 miles later, I have been told that the Explorer's insurance company is sending me a check for 550.00 bucks to get the bumper replaced. This brings up a question. What should I do with this check? Put money towards new wheels/tires for my WRX? Repair the rear bumper cover? Save the money (I just bought a house)? Buy a new gun? Any other ideas?

Try to fix it yourself. If that doesn't work then get a new one. A new rear bumper is less then 200 dollars. THen you will have to get it painted. which should be less then 300 dollars total.

Fix the bumper, it is a new car. I could not live with that. Otherwise, get new tires.

1. Fix bumper.
2. Send leftover to mortgage company with next payment. It will eat away at the core amount and not be tossed on interest. Saving you $$$ in the long run. ![]() |

Tires!!! What a diff. they make.
Bumper-who cares, You trade it in years from now and wont matter. If you get hit again you get another $550. I got paid for 4 bumpers in the 8 yrs i owned my FX16. |

Don't worry bout taggin the bumper of the explorer with the gun...it'll probably rollover sometime in the near future anyways.
Find a bump off of wrecked one and get some wheels so you can cut off the explorer to help it rollover. If all else fails finance a gun or I'll lend you one of mine. |

TIRES!!!! tires will make a world of difference. I recommend RE-730's in the stock size. Just don't try driving with them in the winter!
As far as guns go, I want a new one. I want a nice compact .45 ACP. It has to be nice, small and accurate, any suggestions? I'm looking in the $400-600 range. Michigan will pretty much give any law abiding citizen a permit to carry now. All my guns are to big for portability! |

Save it and put it towards coilovers, trust me, if you have stcok suspension, it is no fun to understeer in hairpins at 90mph+
