OMGHi2U Photographers

Ok so I know a few of you are basically pro quality photographers and I was interested in doing a photo shot of my car now that its basically done exterior wise.

Let me know if there is something we can work out, like a group shot or individual, and so on, I know guys shot at meets but I mean like a meet or day where we hit of great "photo site".

Maybe do themes like nature or industrial, ocean so on.

let me know what you all think and if some of you Uber camera guys are willing and what not.

When you said gangster style I immediately imagined someone holding a DSRL camera sideways saying "BAAAYUMM"

Are you looking for a professional paid shoot or a pro-VIC member (say... Picard...) shoot?

I was thinking a pro-vic shot, but also alittle extra or something like a calendar with full credit going to whomever does it then, get it done up for anyone in Vic and maybe some of others, you know something like that.

From what i understand its Because the resolution of film will still far out do digital, especially in large format photography

Too cheap to buy a digital SLR?

I know that printing technology has caught up, but when i was really into photography, film still had a vast advantage on a print. Most people share their photos online now so digital has the vast advantage now. I got discouraged when $100 point and shoot snapshot started to look better than my hard fought photos when online.

I still love slide film, but for the most part, I have just given up. What I used to spend hours doing manually with slides and impressed people with can now be done on the computer with a few clicks of a mouse. It just seemed depressing to me that what used to be such a satisfying effort had been simplified so much that it was no longer impressive; my skills were outdated and new skills came along. Thus, a replacement digital camera has never been a priority purchase for me.

Plus, I have a Pentax set-up, and they were lagging behind on quality digital bodies. They have come out with some good stuff now so it has become more tempting.

Yeah, digital cameras have not yet caught up to a medium format film. Not that I can afford a medium format set-up *drool*

Yeah, I got a digital slr a few months ago...

Digital's easy and I'm getting lazy. But film still looks better in many situations. Especially if you buy good film... And I still shoot like I'm shooting film; none of this candy-assed trial-and-error-take-a-pic-and-see-how-it-looks-on-the-little-screen crap.
