Default Opinions needed on bumper diffuser combo

So I got my Subaru oem 02 diffuser kit installed professionally onto my bumper, no complaints, and the diffuser is ON the bumper big time, only thing is I don't feel the lines of the lip/skirt/rear flow very well, and Ive been starting to sway to the 04-05 tails/bumper with an APR diffuser, and possibly some spats.

I really like the diffuser but you can see that the spats don't seem to flow as well with the rest of the skirting, ie the skirts and lip are perfect in that they aren't super outerwardly aggressive, vs the rear lip.

I LOVE this lip, its eaxactly what I want which is why I feel my rear is wrong compared to my front.

and here is the flow, you can see that the back doesn't quite mesh with the front.

but I need opinions guys I really like the rear kit I just don't think it works with the rest of the styling lines I have chosen.

Im thinking to switch it out for as stated above the 04-05 lights and APR diffuser, while a more aggressive diffuser I wouldn't have to run spats or the 04-05 I feel are little less aggressive then the 02-03 which would follow better.

Shoulda gone with something more aggressive, ie mature diffuser.

Ive seen the mature and while I do like it, I think its TOO aggressive, I know I know, there never can be too aggressive a diffuser, but Im trying to go alittle more subtle and I think the mature is the same as the oem, in that it wont flow properly.

but ya. Im still torn atm.

1st, drop that prodrive wagon front lip....looks like nth, put it for sale...
2nd, keep the OEM rear spats and rear diffuser as they are good fit/installed...
3rd, time to get the JDM V2 front lip (V1 also ok but as 2nd option)...
4th, you need front JDM sideskirt front mudguards...
5th, also looking for JDM sideskirt rear diffuser spats...
6th, not sure but maybe you want V7 wheels as your winter set, I'd love to see some RPF1 gold (18x8) as your summer...
7th, you like solid fog covers but I like mesh JDM fog cover with white STi logo...
8th, how about the WRX wing raisers...
9th, JDM side turn signal lights are a must (I heard the orange one for GDB is discon'd)

just my 5 cents...you want JDM, here is the way to go Alex...wanna see my bugeye collections?

Then go with an all oem theme, get the sideskirt pieces and lower the car. Will make a worlds of difference.

hahah so many conflicting answers.

hmm, I guess I was kinda asking for it, since style is a personal thing anyways, I think ill just sit on it for a few more days and decide, but thanks for all the different input, I will look up the V1/2 lips and Ive seen the OEM front as well and they all aren't bad.

Solid fog covers FT STI W!

And the V7's are gone, with a set of DPT 17x9's in white coming for summer.

if you plan on doing 04/05 lights, do you plan on switching the bumper too?

yup, Im thinking ill put up the bumper and diffuser as one since the diffuser was installed by a body shop and I don't think it will part from the bumper easily (ill double check that.

So yes I will be doing bumper and lights.

Ill trade my bumper and lights straight for 04/05 or even 06/07 or my bumper for a stock 02/03 bumper+cash

yup, its officially for sale now. kinda funny took me a month to get it, and I really liked it when I first saw it on RS420's car, but now on my car with my plans it just doesn't flow.

ah well live and learn.

The piece under the prodrive lip is something I want to add to give the lip alittle more but still keep it subtle

You can't expect a piece like that to stick it on and make it work. You gotta keep that in mind. Your opinion of it will change dramatically once your car is lowered and on the new wheels, I guarantee it.

And btw, 04 tails WILL fit without any modification on your 02 bumper.

not quite...

you have 2 options. to get the 04 tails on my car, i had to trim a circle cutout on the flat part under the tails. it looks ok but you really should actually buy the 04+ bumper. its very different.

Also, the 02 bumper sits in too far. the 04 tails are actually larger and sit out past the trunk lid almost 1cm. bugeye lights are flush. the bumper brackets are different too. everything is bolt on but you will need to hack your bumper or buy an 04+ bumper...

a subtle hint: i might be persuaded to let go of my 04+ tails and 05 STI rear bumper. wink wink?

bugeye

I've seen them just bolted on, no modification to the bumper, and couldn't tell at all.
