Swapped in a 07 full STI to my 04 WRX. Getting a P0230.

As the title states, I swapped in a full STi engine/tranny/wiring into my 04 WRX. I did not swap the gas tanks and I already had a whalbro installed from my WRX mods. Now I am getting a P0230. What do I need to get off of the STi to keep this from happening again? I still have the STi gas tank and fuel sender, but I need the whalbro because of my EVo3 and supporting mods.

Use your 04 wiring harness in the rear. This is the harness that connects under the rear seat. Splice the 07 STI harness that you used for everything else into that harness. I did the same swap and did not want to swap the tank. This is what I did and the code went away. Im pretty sure all the wires are the same color as well. Its been a while since I did it.

I really don't want to swap harnesses again. And I'm getting conflicting diagnosis here. One thing I did not swap was th efuel sending unit. I had already installed the whalbro and thought I would not need to swap the unit out. I swapped the sensor that is in the RR above the IC tank, that is STi along with th ewhole harness from headlight to tail light. Does onyone know if I need to swap the sending unit oout of the gas tank? Will the STi fuel pump push enough fuel for the 750 cc injectors and IWG EVO3 that I have? Based on what others have done, did you get this CEL and if so exactly how did you fix it?

I'm pulling the tank today. It looks to me like the pinout of the white connector under the rear seat is different between the 05 STI Doner harness and my 03 WRX Harness.

I believe this is the fuel pump controller and not a sensor. P0230 - You might want to try the WRX pump controller and see if it makes a difference. The code is talking about this controller so, you might want to check your install.

You can install the walbro into the STI fuel pump assembly.

I'd verify that the pinout on the white under-seat connector is the same between the doner and this harness.

I guess I may have figured it out. The bolts holding the controller to the chassis were loose. I tightened them and cleared the light, it hasn't come back yet. I'll just wait and see. I can replace the sending unit with the sti if I have to.

I liked the STI unit because it moved the fuel filter into the tank and cleaned up the engine compartment.

The code came back........

Now I know the car that the controller came out of did not have this problem. I do not have the time to pull the tank again, and the only thing differant between my setup and the STi donar is I kept my gas tank and fuel pump. Is there any way possible that the code could be because of the lack of the STi internals in the fuel tank? all of the sensors were the same on the tank except the WRX has one extra evap solonoid, which I removed and blocked off the hose going to it.
