It can be done, but you also need to swap the wiring harness.
Why would you want to do this in the first place? |

I would assume it would just need to swap the bulkhead, you would just have to splice into the factory harness. But I am curious as to why you want to swap to an ej20..

Oh i see lol. Yeah all you will need is the bulkhead from the bugeye and you will just splice it into the rest of the factory harness of the hawkeye. Pull the motor before the harness lol.

the 06 has avcs and the earlier has not just a bad idea |

I don't see how it's a bad idea if he swapping in engine, wiring harness and ecu out of his bugeye into a shell of an 06. It's basically the same car. AVCS would not apply nor would drive by wire if he plans on ripping out all the existing leftovers of the 06...

![]() god...where DO these people come from ????? putting a USDM ej205 2.0 into an 06 is like putting a v6 in z28 camaro waste of time plain pure and simple this is one of those 'watch this' ones on youtube that everybody laughs at because it is so stupid |

so do you think that everyone who does a front end conversion is wasting their time i think it would be a great idea.. the hawkeye has better brakes and looks better imo.. plus he has the shell and his 03 is wrecked to hell so why not? i love the 2.0 that i have for the high revs..

Where do people like you come from?? Your snobbery is sickening. I'll be the first to admit that you give great advice all the time but just because you give it, doesn't make it correct because "Uncle Scotty" said it. He has an 06 lying around with no motor in it and an 03 that is now damaged beyond repair, and instead of buying a new car he can easily swap the powertrain out of his existing one. IT'S MORE OF A FINANCIAL DECISION THAN ANYTHING. I don't see what's so stupid about it. If he had an 06 with a working 2.5 and swapped a 2.0, yeah, it would be retarded but that is not the case here. It's the same ****ing car without a motor in it. It's nowhere near your comparison of a v6 going into a Z28 either. The s EJ205 makes identical hp numbers to the 2.5. Not all of us here can afford to buy a new car nor $1800 to buy a new shortblock, especially if he practically has an extra WRX just sitting around with a capable WRX motor to put in it.

/\/\/\ LOL, I also agree with the above comment, if you have 2 spairs make 1 out of it and a 2.0 is nothing like compairing and putting in a v6 into a z28. haha
I think you should call TRAN and get an SR420DET in there. Heck call Bryan Spilner and order 3 straight from Japan. j/khaha |

im so sick and tired of your useless posts. this guy made it clear as mud what he has. HE HAS AN 06 SHELL HE HAS AN 02 MOTOR, ECU, AND WIRING HARNESS Straight forward swap. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that. Both the 06 motor and 02 motor produce the same amount of HP stock. Why would you even try and question him. |
