Default 272 vs. 280's?

So i have an 04 sti with a gt35r, 800cc's and 255 pump in a nut shell... i am thinking my next step is cam's. Any suggestions as far as if cam's are a good next step? if so should i go 272's or 280's??

you might as well do the whole head since they will be out...+1 valves and some porting

What are your goals? Drag? Road course? Street car?

Different cams create a different powerband in the end...need to figure out which one is usable for you. I'm running 'baby' 252's and loving them.

I don't think you can even run a 280's without serious head work and shimless buckets. At that point, you might as well build the motor too. haha

Do you want to keep AVCS? But the best question is what are you doing with the car that should depict what cam you go with.

I would say build the bottom end first, unless you already have or get bigger injectors. No head work needed yet.

I run 280's in my car, the BC 280's i love them and people really love the sound. The idle is very rough but i dont mind and i plan on running either a GT4094 or a 35R w/a 1.06 so a big turbo and wanted a good sized cam. my car is even daily driven. But i also have a completely built bottom end, and what do you use for tuning? some tuning systems dont like big cams.

What are you looking to do with your car?? I have a 35R in mine with a 1.06 (feels like driving a 2 stoke car), but i'm lookin to drop to a .82 for a good track car...
