Default Burning oil smell?

I've got a burning oil smell emanating from somewhere around the headers or cat. When I turn off the car it even smokes a bit down there. I did not spill any oil during my last oil change. It only started smoking a few hundred miles after my last oil change.

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

this happened to me right after i installed my engine/tranny mounts. It smoked like mad for like the first 10min, then went away, i had no idea what was going on.

I would check your seals. See if your crank seal is leaking. Do you notice any oil on the ground?

I can't say I've noticed any oil on the ground but I'll have to check next time. One factor is I think I may have had about 1/2 to 1 quart too much oil in the car. I changed oil with the front up on ramps and I'm suspecting that not all the oil was drained out because after it started smoking I checked the dipstick (after wiping) and the oil level was over the "F" mark. I have since drained a bit of oil to get it to the proper level.

By the way, what seals should I be checking and where are they located?

Thanks for the tips so far.

You know, i can't really say I know exactly where the crank seal is... It's somewhere close to the timing belt, but behind it.
