Question Please!

I swapped out a JDM EJ205 into my 2003 wrx. I know there is specific tuning that needs to be done for it to run right since its higher compression and all. But the place I took it too just seemed to throw a cobb stage 2 map on it... not sure if that suffices for the higher compression and all that but can I just use cobb maps then like an accessport or something then? I'm just using the stock USDM ecu. It seems to run right so far with the cobb off the shelf map they used. I was maybe thinkin of changing a couple things myself with open source tuning. Any suggestions people have for a tune to put a on a JDM wrx engine running a USDM ecu with USDM wrx intake mani and td04.

No- the Cobb tune will not be good enough to keep from destroying the engine if it does have higher compression. The open loop fueling will be much different with any change to compression ratio. It will run, but then it will blow up the engine one nice day while you are having fun.

Take the car somewhere that knows how to tune a car and get them to write a specific map for it.

Hey thanks man is there anyway I can find like an Open Source map someone has online for it maybe? I want to keep stock ecu and all that good stuff and plan on going bigger turbo like a APS SS42 or something. Anyone have any advice on finding a tune to support this thing. Any safety precautions i can take in the mean time what will help me sense it coming wideband anything?
