De-rice your car with this:

While on the starting line at an autox once, the announcer after saying driver name and car, then asked, "is there a baby seat in the back?" over the loud speaker. To this, I give a thumbs up and he goes, "oh, there is!?"

My buddy ran the last 2 track days with his kids two carseats still in the back... you know for ballast.

I am 31 and drive an 04 WRX, traded a silver 04 for another silver 04...don't ask.

Car came with short shifter, alpine CD/radio/satellite/IPOD deck, and carbon fiber detailing inside.

I have since done a blaupunkt subwoofer under the passenger seat and a cobb stage one map.

Just bought prosport green/white performance gauges that will go in the autometer dual mount cluster bezel and will be doing a turboxs flex uppipe when I can find a used one.

And when I get the mod bug again I'll probably do a cobb catted DP and maddad whisper dual tip exhaust and stage 2 base map and maybe a pro tune.

As for the op with most older guys you'll find people want the power not the flash, as I do...ie stock look but gimme the power...silent but deadly.

Plus youre never too old for one, when I tell people I have one they get really excited from audio guys to clients, etc when they know what a subarau is. Be proud of the fast little SOB....more people out there appreciate them than you think.

36, purchased new in 2002. All factory options except wing, guage pod, and BBS wheels. I added EDM headlights, fog covers, painted rockers, leather seats (1/2 installed) and SSR wheels w/Kumho tires. The STI leveling harness was lost in the WRXmotorworks fiasco. Anyone know of a vendor who supplies a leveling harness kit?

-Pink Springs
-KB SS & Bushings
-KB Endlinks
-STi RSB
-Pads lines & fluid

Of course, I bought a Forester over a WRX wagon because I wanted to be grown up, different, and a lesbian.

Is really a surprise???? Look at all the more experienced motorheads still rocking the older muscle cars. It's all automotive love.

35, with a 2006 limited and only a SPT intake. Plans for the SPT catback. Need something un-noticeable as this is my DD and I am in sales. I love the car and the comments I get from clients and everyday people. Hope to soon be able to upgrade to the new STI as it is more refined for the everyday driver and more room for the kids. But for now, I think this is the best car I have ever had. As compared to an 82 Celica, 88 Blazor, 91 BMW 318i, 94 Civic, 91 Mustang GT (original 5.0), 95 Corsica, and finishing with a 2003 Jetta GLI.

52 OBP '08 stage 1. Driving home yesterday from picking up my 11 year old, some kid with a sideways ball cap pulls up next to me in a nice rock-crusher. Throws me a two finger salute with his tounge hanging out. Kinda embarrasing- So I smoked him.

awesome news and great to see all the people rockin the rexes here. Im turning 29 in july and was looking for ideas, opinions, because I didn't want to rice out my car. I do like the racer/sporty/sleek look so I was kinda confused as to not get make a ricer out of it in the process. ex how some people put all of the accessories available on dem f150s,(window curtains, side rails/steps, hood bug deflector, gold trim, with pin striping..tail covers,..) hehehe.

cyborgx_CZ I like how your car looks, That is something I would look fwd too as well as Mach v Dans' wrx. they do not look ricey at all and they look classy and fast. This is the quality I would be looking for when I hit that age and just couldn't picture a car that would look like porches/mercedez and bmw's. Don't get me wrong these lux. cars look sleek/sporty and fast, but they are not my cup of tee as everyone wants one.

Right now the mentality I have would be to make my car a bit like 69subaru360 and BVM as I got a PSM bugeye. Only mods is ecu tune and muffler.

Keep it going. . Also if you have pictures feel free to post them up. This thread is awesome.

Also the reason I ask what people would think is because i think we can all agree that it would look funny when you are 50 and are riding around a fully riced out Neon.. I used to have a neon with body kit, viper blue, chrome..etc and though my dad looked wierd driving it. He thought the same, but said it was fun. hehe. It wasn't riced out but screemed boy racer.. hehe, i was way younger.

I just fear the day when old WRX's get cheap enough that the ghettos start buying them and ricing them up.

2007 WRX wagon, vf48, Cobb dp, Walbro fp, Spearco tmic, Swift springs, koni struts, K&N, Greddy exhaust, protune = 285hp / 320tq. I'm 52 and having a blast. My wagon is cheaper than a 911 and offers three times the utility. I can throw my road bike on the roof or my 165 lb Bloodhound in the back (or the reverse if he's being a butt head). Headers, injectors and a larger turbo are next!

I'll be 42 this year.
Maybe not the primary target range age for the WRX, but it makes a great companion car to my Vette.
Plenty of power, fun to drive and it's great in the rain & snow.

I don't have too many mods.
Just tinted windows & SPT exhaust.
And Rally Armor flaps which aren't shown in this picture.

Remember that "Rice" is purely subjective.

To some, the mere fact that you drive an import will badge you as a "Ricer."

Just do what you're comfortable with - don't mind others.

This is great... I love to see the "wiser" people still driving the subies.

I saw an r32 on the highway yesterday with two people that looked like grandparents. I thought he was driving his grandson's car. It was probably his car.

THE SUBIE STAYS !!
