I'm 59 and getting my 2012 WRX hatch this week. Trading in my '01 S4 avant 6-spd. Also have a '93 NSX bought new.

Love my manuals, and can't wait to begins mods on the Subie!

Im almost 44, just bought my first wrx! I have been looking at these For a few years now. Living here in se Michigan, I prefer awd for the winters. I have owned the kings of awd jeepsrt8, cayenne turbo (still have the cayenne) and now a 2009 wrx hatch. I love manual transmissions! Thats right, all those texting, coffee drinking, makeup applying people driving out there, move over and let us drive the way driving is ment to be! I have only had it 2 weeks now and did the turbo back exhaust, FMIC and Cobb tuner. I almost cant wait for winter.

Im 32 and am trading in my 07 trailblazer ss awd. Ive had tons of cool cars though. BMW m coupe, evo 9 mr, various built nissan 240's with sr's and rb's, c5 corvette, and even rhd mini cooper I imported. I cant wait for my sti to come in.

Also SE MI here. I bought my 2004 WRX new when I graduated from college, so when I was 22. Owned it for about 6 years. Sold it for something more sensible. Now my sensible phase is over and my 2012 STI is on order and I'm expecting to take delivery on or around my 31st birthday in the middle of May.

35 here. Bought my first Subaru January of last year, 2011 STi Limited. Great car. Its in the shop undergoing some improvements. Should be getting it back this week if all goes well.

Traded in my 2006 GTO for this car and couldn't be happier.

37 and bought my first WRX in October 2011. Lots of mods and planning on doing a lot more.

What's funny is that I traded in a 2009 Jetta TDI for the WRX. I guess I'm going the opposite of green.

Father of 3 kids under 7 and they think my car is a supercar so I'm still OK to drive it I guess. Often seen driving a Honda Odyssey on the weekends but don't tell!

this thread rocks. 33 here and I love my 05 wrx. I've gotten used to ignoring the ricers that test me at lights and just enjoy driving spiritedly from time to time. Although i don't track my car, I'm still feeling the urge to mod. I've got 280 to the wheels from a vf39 with supporting mods and don't know how else to keep it lag friendly while upping the power!

35 in June. Just traded my '05 STi in on a '12 Wrx Premium. The '12 makes my 5th Subaru. I've owned: '89 XT6, '02 Wrx, '05 STi, '06 Legacy Spec B and now the '12 Wrx. Couldn't be happier with all of the vehicles. I will always have a Subie in my stables.

I am pretty much in the same boat, but there is a threat I should let you know about since it got me.

I lost an engine (ringland) , in my 07 Limited, not an epic meltdown just a casual oil usage increase I noticed then checked leakdown/comp on.

So the car is in getting a stroked block and some other goodies.

What is the threat? Well since the "beasty car" as my kids call it, is in the shop, they tell my wife at every stop light. "Want to go fast..."

(these are 2-3 year olds)

So if you break your rocketship, your kids might come after you.

My car has been down now for a couple of months waiting on parts and shop time etc etc. And the kids are constantly asking to go for a ride in the "beasty car" and I have to tell them Daddy broke the beasty car.

Note: I never really drive fast with the kids, but I do let it come on boost every now and then in first or second. As we all know with an aggressive tune that first or second gear torque on spool is crazy.

Now 43 and have had a WRX for 7 yrs. For me, there isn't a better car out there besides a STI hatchback. But, buying one of those would be pointless since I have no car payment and my car is modded to my liking. Performance and practicality are tough to beat with these cars. I can track it one day and load it up with mountain bikes and camping gear the next.

I was down at Cobb Surgeline a few weekends ago and was talking to a guy there that had just purchased a 2012 WRX and he was 47yrs old. He absolutely loved the car and had bought a AccessPort and was having his car tuned with 4-5 maps being made.

If you like fast cars, you like fast cars and age doesn't matter. It's how you mod it or don't mod it that shows ones age.

I'm 37 and am on my second WRX.

Not sure why people think it is odd for guys over 30 to own these cars. Honestly, almost every guy I've seen in a 08+ WRX/STi has been over 30. I always see the young guys in the older ones, which makes sense considering they are alot cheaper.

Just got my first wrx (2012 black hatch) and I'm 30, married and have a 5 yr old with a baby on the way.

Last car was a e46 BMW and before that was a rhd eg6.

Got over the whole car modding scene and sold that hatch (fully built) to buy the Beemer. Biggest mistake ever. BMW are total garbage. Now I got a hatch again and hopefully can mod it a little without getting to know every cop in a 100 mile radius.
