35 with a Daily Driver 02 wrx with 250,000 kms original engine/tranny.

this thread should really be who is older with an old car... it seems only the younger kids < 25 here can:
1. live at home
2. afford to finance/lease a new STI
3. pay for mods with the money earned from lifestyle-jobs or part time work.
4. pay for gas to "rock" their mods

30 years old, but my 2012 Impreza is a non-WRX Marine Blue 5-speed.

Mortgage eliminates WRX option for me.

I'm 55 today and I bought my wrx in 2001. its best car I've ever owned,
COBB Tuned in SLC. APS: tmic, 3" turbo back ,uppipe, hard pipe turbo inlet w/ cobb airbox and short ram. sti v7 turbo, pink injectors, fuel pump, 1 step colder copper plugs. RCE yellows on fp ohilns. sti a arms, 3 sets of wheels and tires. f&r cusco bars. just to name a few that have greatly improved handling and preformance.

should talk to the BlueMk3, he sounds like a typical 24 yr old that is probably running google or facebook and he seems to have authored Rich Dad, Poor Dad and can probably help you improve your financial situation, getting you into a WRX.

in some countries, like canada, monthly insurance for a 2012 wrx on a 23 yr old would prob be more than your apartment.

good on you for paying-your-way, i guess i just need better financial sense...

granted there are a lot of young guys out there that live at home in order to buy nice cars but a college grad with a decent job should have no problem paying for a WRX in their mid 20s. You just sound kind of bitter about the whole thing

I'm 37yrs old, married with kids and dogs, and a mortgage.
Daily driver was an auction car purchased for about $10k, 02 wrx with 216,000 miles. stg.2 with CF hood and trunk, rims and misc decals. Recently it became a 2.5L Varoooom!
This is my 2nd Subaru, and my wife is on her 2nd as well.
If you start to feel like you are to old for your car, you can always un-mod it.
Mods / no mods I would drive any Subaru model with pride. (except the tribeca lol)

You paid $10K for a car with 216K miles?

Was 41 when I had the '04 5door, traded that in on a 528i kept it for a year, traded it in on a 540i sport package, had that 4 years and am now trading that in and awaiting delivery on a '12 5 door @45y. No plans on exterior mods but do intend stage 2 powertrain and suspension.

34 in May. Original owner of my 02 wrx sedan. Just started making enough money to finally mod it. 18g-xt going in this week. My friends hate I still love it. But if your married and have a job that employs you based on your ability to produce or perform and not schmooze then really you will only get heat from the wife.

There is no too old to run a wrx. There is too young to be in a German car though.

I could have afforded a lightly used M3 or S4, but usually look at those guys (at least younger ones) as D-bags so I went with a Subby and have no regrets. I don't have to worry about dog hair or getting sand in it. Its the ultimate "best of both worlds" car (aside from the STi).

I am nearly 30. What I have found is that while I do very aggressively modify my WRX, all the aesthetics are a little bit more subtle and not too over the top

Just ordered a 2013 WRX 5 door and I will be 32 when it gets here. We have 3 kids ages 3, 1 and 1 (twins) so it won't be much of a family hauler but that's what our minivan is for. This thread helped my decision with getting a WRX by knowing I didn't have to be in my 20's to get the car I have always wanted....now I just have to wait a few more months for it.

35 and picking up my new WRX today or tomorrow.

Dark Gray, 5door...very excited.

two kids, one 6 and one 3 and the hatch will accomodate a couple of dogs nicely.

Cheers

30, have a 2000 2.5rs coupe with 22b widebody and jdm ej207 swap. and like everyone else, taste on looks have settled down in the last 5 years to liking the sleeper look and quiet blow off valves and mild exhaust. I refuse to put the big spoiler on, sometimes the basket handle is too big.
no kids, wife and I believe in dogs. Being DINK is kinda nice.

35, wife, little baby boy just over a year, mortgage and all the extra crap that goes with. Purchased my '12 WRX back in late May. 55XX miles currently, stage one, Nameless Axleback Muffler Delete and many more mods to come. Age is a number, I act/live 35, work like I'm 35, however I'm 27 at heart and from time to time party like that as well.

I am 22 but feel 32 - does that count?

and by the way... married, no kids, apartment, vehicle, wife and I work full time, and no parents... So, please don't just 'assume' all people in that age bracket are the same. Thanks.
