Default 44 and not growing up

I'm 44, on my third Subie, had a 2.5 RA 2 door with a jdm swap, an 02 wagon with a hybrid build and an 04 sti 6 speed and drive train, and now an 02 wagon with a 2.5 (mostly sti) and six speed. All daily drivers; love the cars!

I just did an EL header install and cussed the car for 2 days straight. Now that it's all over I love it again! Headed to Motionlab tomorrow for a tune. Someday I might grow up, but for now... I still have a need for speed, and the Subie does a great job meeting that need with a large dose of practicality!

It seems like every WRX wagon I pull up too is being driven by and old dude or a grandma! I still give them a thumbs up and go about my business.

52 - upgraded from a 2007 Speed3 to a 2011 WRX Hatch limited last September. This is my DD - within a couple of months went stage 2, custom Cobb tune, suspension, driveline, and exhaust. 2 grown kids, with only my wife and dog left at home.

Wife refers to my WRX as 'the other woman' and feels neglected as FedEx and UPS deliver more presents for the car than her. My dog loves the rumble, especially once the MadDad turbo back was installed. Now when birthdays or Christmas roll around, she always asks if there's anything I need for the car.

Really enjoy driving this car and the Subaru community.

I'm 32 and just getting ready to buy my first WRX...

I've wanted one since like 1994, but this is the first chance I've had to actually afford one. I probably won't do much modding, I like the stock performance. But I may replace the stereo or do some minor appearance upgrades (window tint, interior, etc). This will be my daily driver so can't do anything crazy.

38 and I'm still getting use to lots of drivers in other cars (especially newer domestic musclecars) egging me on for a race. I haven't experienced this since the 1990s when I had a modified 94 Z28. I get a chuckle looking out my office window and seeing male excutives slowly walking and/or driving around my WRX. Maybe they're laughing or maybe the widebody WRX looks grown up and is refined in looks to interest older males. To my kids, it's the race car and they're eager to tell their friends that daddy has a WRX.

I am 30 and believe that you should not worry about what others think about your car vis-a-vis your ever increasing age.

Just thought that needed to be said .

33 and just picked up a new 2012 WRX OBP 5-door a couple of weeks ago. Came from a 2011 328i sedan auto and wanted something more exciting yet still practical and a good DD. I absolutely love my car and plan to keep it for 10+ years!

56 in a few days- picked up a 2012 WRX in May to replace my JCW MINI which was totaled. It was the obvious choice after driving my son's 06.

33.5 years old
first Subaru (2012 STI)
it was between an IS-F, Porsche 997 C4S, Z4M Coupe and a new STI. i chose the STI because it's the best bang for the buck considering the trade my broker was giving me for my truck and...it was brand new. i am so picky i felt better getting the new piece.

as far as perceptions, i don't give a damn what anyone ever thinks about anything with me.

that is the theme of the thread, obv. otherwise, why would it matter how old you are and why have this thread? the OP is apparently concerned about the perception of someone over 30 having a WRX styled a certain way. i am saying i don't give a **** what the perception is, i like the car.

slightly surprised i had to spell that out.
