Had the bill of sale signed and everything, but opted for a '13 Impreza Sport Limited - sticking point was the wife does not drive stick...we changed our mind back to the WRX at the last minute, but too late, as it had been sold (NJ folks remember how hectic it was at dealerships). We needed a car in a hurry, so that was that (looking for emoticon for "hitting myself on the head with a mallet").

Not all is lost, as we plan on buying/leasing either a WRX or BRZ (manual) as a second car this summer...so a question to the older folks that have posted or lurked this thread: WRX or BRZ? Keep in mind I live in Jersey City...

By the way - I take exception to the whole "mid-life crisis" thing: I didn't all of a sudden start liking sports cars when I turned 50!
You will regret it if you don't get a WRX. One word: TURBO

63 here, have 2002 WRX wagon I bought new as a retirement present to myself. Yes I retired at 52. Got a wagon so I didn't have to wear my ball cap backward and say "dude" lol. Seriously, I like wagons better than sedans, first was a 1973 Mazda RX-3 wagon, also bought new.

Current mods are COBB Accessport, mudflaps from 2002 TS wagon. Will get new paint, downpipe, up pipe, turbo, etc and dyno tune in the next few months to get it ready for another ten years.

I'm 29, I needed a family car and wanted one that didn't suck; the 06 WRX wagon fit the bill. (note: a family car has 4 doors people, not just 4 seats, well at least thats what my wife says and the reason I'm not driving a Mustang instead)

Oh and I bought this car off a 74 YEAR OLD!!

I'll be 30 in 6 months. Own one WRX currently, and have another one ordered so that we can have His and Hers WRXs

I graduated college and bought my 2002 WRX in fall of '03 1 owner used at a dealer when I was 23. Drove it for years before I did anything UP,DP, and tune. Just had a V7STI with a Blouch Dom 1.5 XTR and 6 speed swapped in and put down 320WHP on 91 octane last week. Ill keep her another 10 years and see if anything catches my eye. Now I am going to be 33 this year and don't regret one decision about this car.

2012 WRX wagon ISM....65 next month...Mods? you bet...filled the ash tray with Hershey chocolate squares. This raises the sugar level of the turbo...much faster now.

I bet it vibrates if you add coffee to the gas.

I turned thirty last month and I've been driving my rice rocket for the last 12 years. I'm never going to sell it.
