And straight to the mom jokes...now I'm just disappointed. And I'll save you the time, since we all know that you would just say "not as disappointed as I was with your mom", although I am impressed you were with my mother when you were 8, well done.

keep the STi, get a used minivan...

Why?

1. You won't care how thrashed it gets from the kids.
2. It can actually haul a lot of stuff.
3. 3rd row seat with 2nd row folded down makes an awesome table.
4. If it has flat screens, it's great at occupying the kids on long trips.
5. Sliding doors makes loading and off loading kids much easier while the garage door is still closed.
6. Drives on the road better
7. Better MPG
8. You get to keep the STi.

02 wrx

kids and a mortgage and proud to drive something a bit older with bit of character..

and as far as the internet is concerned, every other 20-something has a new STI and I have poor money management skills...

I'm 30 & a female. I have 2012 obsidian black wrx. Bought the car brand new, and only bought the base model wrx. I didn't add extras cuz I didn't want to finance them all. My Subie has almost 17,000 miles on her and is my daily driver. When I bought the car I immediately tinted her, got red rally armor mud flaps, red hella horns, some Perrin bolt ons, shift knob ( Cobb) short throw shifter (Cobb), a turbo blanket, Cobb shifter bushings, snowboard rack and wind deflector. I absolutely love this car! One complaint: this car needs bigger brakes! It's the only thing missing!

I'm an old man at 49 -- I own 2012 WRX Limited, 2013 Forester XT, 2005 baja T 5 speed and 2005 T baja AT. The Baja's are my favorite, not because they are faster but because they have more character.

1dweeb, nice call on the Baja. I love 'em.

45, new 2013 WRX WRB Hatch.

No mods yet, but LC Latheworks shift knob coming. Footwells in. Planning to do the GroupN mounts and looking into logging / instrument pod.

Just passed 2000 miles and the clutch noises and rattles are starting. Love the car.

Married, 1 kid, turning 32 by the end of this year, I have an 02 WRX I bought used, looked aged when I got it but then a year and half later, got her freshly painted, Stage 2 goodies, STi wing, RPF1's, rolled and pulled fenders (f&r) and still have a list going...

36 here. Ordered my first ever Subaru back in January.

Given the price of the WRX, I'd expect the average buyer/owner to be in their 30's.

36 - bought it when I was 35. My last car was an Audi A4 which I guess may be more "fitting" for my age. But the WRX is 100x more fun to drive. And I couldn't care less if others think it looks too boy racer.

Also, when I experience a scenario like this, I sure don't feel like I bought the wrong car:

Last snow we had I was driving home and came up on an incline. The sophisticated looking older woman next to me was struggling to go up the hill in her RWD Mercedes and even started to slide backwards; she was visibly frustrated as she was throwing her body back and forwards on her seat as if the momentum would somehow help her go up the hill.

I drove by calmly, easily and safely up the hill as I witnessed this.
