Unhappy PROECM help!

Okay. I the first time i installed the Pro-ecm it was okay and after a while on the way home the check engine light came on and the fan was going off like crazy. So I tightened the wires with buds and that made it all beter. Its been about 1-2 weeks now and my engine idles at different RPMS. From maybe about 830-670 every now and then. So me and my friend decide to clean it up by souldering the wires so it won't be faulty. After i drove it a whilem, the check engine light comes on again! ANd the idle is very high! 900! When i park into the garage, the car idles back to normal 750 or so. Whats the problem? I drove the car after souldering it and it was fine. Reved normal and idled beautifully. Did I do the wiring wrong? Which wire do you guys think it is? I drive a 2001 Impreza so if anybody can help please!

If the fans are going of all the times, even if the engine seems cold, it is the blue wire that is in contact with ground. Put a piece of electric tape or something over it so it can't come in contact with ground. What was the trouble code? I would check the orange and orange/black wires to ensure perfect contact. Also make sure they are insulated completely so that there are NO risk of shortcut to ground.

Alrite Dave, today i will check the orange/black and orange wire to make sure it is connected. Maybe some of the wires are just touching the ground. I will make sure none of the wires that are are just hanging there is gonna touch anything. I will try it again Dave. BTW, Dave is a really cool guy. I read all the problems people have and this guy provides help ASAP. Definintely not a fraud and wants people to enjoy their Subies. And no he didn't give me my chip to say this. My car is still running bad! GOod luck everybody!
