OK, I'm pimpin' in my new WRX now and need to tell people who actually care. Most people seem to think it's just a red station wagon. That, of course, until I leave them like they are standing still at stop lights. hehe.
On a side note, who was at Exeter Subaru in the Silver RS with the gold rally style tail and Japanese style wing? Anyone?

I didn't trade it exactly, it was a lease. It had almost 40k on it, so I'll actually end up getting pegged with an over mileage charge. Oh, and you're right... I did pick the best color. Thanks for the congrats, I'm feelin' damn good.
BTW, did you get yours from Exeter, and if so, (even if not) what did they tell you about break in time? [This message has been edited by Sagalyn (edited May 16, 2001).] |

Ah.. yeah that's my little silver/gold beast.
I saw the Green RS.. very nice. very rare bird. Enjoy the new wagon, we would have stopped and harassed you but we figured our enthusiasm might scare you off.. heh. make sure you try to get to a meet and introduce yourself. |

Sweet car... No, wouldn't feel too harassed. I had one of the first RS's in Maine with ol' Green. I was real into it til I got married. Then, well the wife started talking...
Anyway, no longer a problem, and I got my WRX |

The break in time is after 1000 miles really want to keep it under 4000 rpms which still allow you to do a 100 on highways hehe. Second thing is at a 1000 miles they recommend that you change oil so after those to have happened just take it easy and get a feel for her in the turns.

Hmmm.... The salesman told me the 1k break in was BS. He also told me just to change the oil after the first 1k and not to set the cruise before 600 since the car needs to moderate speed. I want to believe the sales guy about the no break-in thing... though it sounds unusual. I WANT TO BELIEVE!

well. better safe than ****ed.. that's the way I see it.
pulling 1K of moderate driving isn't that hard to do, might as well. and the Cruise control is valid, you don't want the car to run at a constant RPM durring break in.. that's funny.. he acknowledged part of the break in process with the cruise control thing.. but then said the whole thing is BS. come on.. make up your mind. |

This car is a constant test of my discretion. I've already gone around a few corners sideways... Yeeha! I'm not sure I can keep it below 4k. I've gotta show the non believers that this car got some...

Who was at Boston Market Tonight in Portsmouth? Saw a couple of Silver RS's (a coupe and sedan) along with some other non Suby products... Anyone?

Congrats, man! So, that was your red WRX wagon with the sold sign on it. I was up there on Tues. to get my alarm installed and saw it there.
Doh! I wished I knew about the cruise control. I've used it a couple times already. |

I don't remember who the salesman who told me that was. He wasn't the guy that sold me it, though. Oh well. I've already had it well past 4k, I guess I'll have to calm down. No permant damage, I hope.

So, do we get a free oil change at 1,000 miles from Exeter?

No. I don't think so. We do get free state inspection, though. For whatever that's worth...

Congrats!!!
I concur, you got the best color and body style combo! ![]() For what it's worth, I found miles 100-800 to not be too bad during break-in. It was just the first time driving (105 on the highway) and towards the end that gets tough! I happened to see a new green OBS the other day. Too bad they didn't offer the WRX in that color! Red is still my first choice, but that green was pretty tempting. Just had my windows tinted (Mr. Tint). Must say, even though I only did the legal limit (35%, i believe), still looks pretty sharp. Now all I need is the alarm and a boost gauge! Well, enjoy! I'll look for you at the next meet! Oliver |

Yeah, used to have the RS in green, but I think the WRX Sports Wagon in green may look too minivan-ish. I don't know. But thanks for the congrats!
