Unhappy I was going to get ___ w/ my tax return but I've HAVE to get ___.

Just wondering who else may be in the same boat. Fill in the blanks.

We're getting a pretty decent return and it'll never be this big again. '08 was the last year my wife was a full-time student which yields a healthy return I've enjoyed for the past few years.

So... I'm thinking we're going to use it on another trip to Punta Cana Dom. Rep. again this summer as a "last hoo-rah" before we have our first kid but our frigga-fraggin-frip-nip-lilly-stick a/c unit is going to have to be replaced before it gets hot!!!

What got yanked out from under you?

We went to the next tax bracket. So while I expected a net return of ~ 3-4K from state & fed, I got back 1300.

My fed was $70

Oh, and what is left is paying for life insurance premiums.

Alright, I understand the jibber jabber adjective I used to describe my cursed a/c unit while cleverly swear-filter dodging, but have you seriously never heard anyone say "last hoo-rah" or described a disappointment as something being "yanked out from under" you?

I owe $500 this year so I won't be getting anything with my return. Still, much better than the $5k i owed last year.

I was going to buy thousands of Reese's PB cups, but instead I'll need to buy a new roof for my house.

I would have liked to get a blu-ray player, some movies, and a short shifter.

But i had to/wanted to buy a new Mac last year, and i'm paying off the credit card i bought it with right now. I've got till December to get it paid to avoid interest.

I wanted some front brembos or vision correction, but now my car needs a timing belt service.

I don't miss that. I think I paid over 1300 to have timing belt/water pump done on my Acura. Timing chains FTW.
