Default my car died... again!

i was in a parking lot. started my car..after like 1 min of idling, it just shut off..

i tried starting it back up...it cranks but doesnt start... i think its my fuel pump because usually i hear a little hummmm.... but i didnt hear anything..

i didnt do anything different..

I have:
95 impreza
94WRX(motor/tranny)
stock fuel pump. (95impreza)

im going to take out my FP and see if thats it... if it is, im going to get a walbro 255...

any other idea? im going to check it now... ill update my problem..

UPDATE:
-fump pump, forsure not pumping....might be relay or ECU
-not flooded
-i get 3.3v to the FP...
-checking if ECU is getting power (tomorrow)
-checking if the relay is broken (tomorrow)
-12v to ECu
-12v to the 3 relays under dash.

PROBLEM SOLVED

thanks for the help...

Check engine light turn on when you turn the ignition key?

My guess is that you blew a fuse or relay and the ECU is not getting power.

I had my pump fail on me, got a walbro installed as well.

take the back bench out to get to the pump it will save you a lot of aggravation when trying to pull the lines off the sending unit. (and be really careful they crack easy).

the easiest way to check for a bad pump is to pull a fuel line off the filter, turn the key to accessories for a split second and see if gas starts to piss out. I had a friend put his finger on the end of the return line to see if pressure built up but you can use a rag or whatever.

no fuel usually means pump went bye-bye. it could also be the relay. I'd use an LED or multimeter and see if you get any voltage when you turn the motor over at the pump. if you have power then yeah, it's your pump.

a faulty pump usually will give you rough starts and random stalls -- did you have any of those issues recently?

i unplugged the pump and used a multi meter on it... i only got like 3.3 volts... and when i tried cranking it... it went lower and lower... then back up to 3v...

where is the relay located?

you sure you probed the pump leads and not the send unit/gauge leads?

you should be getting 9v minimum.

and it's under the dash by the main relay way way in there you'll have to get on your back to see up there.

o ok... those relays.. i know what you are talking about... i probed the plug that goes to the fuel pump... i unplugged it (from the rear, under that cover thing) and i rear 3v from there.... maybe it might be the relay... =

i hate those relays... it was easy to see with the dash off..

first, verify the ECU is seeing power. Best way is to turn the ign on and see the CEL turns on. It doesn't matter if the FP and relay are in perfect working order, if the ECU isn't powering up, it will never trigger the FP relay to turn on.

no CEL...but something like this happened before (car flooded, somehow) no CEL then...
and when i used to misfire no CEL...i didnt do any recent modifications that would effect the ECU....

ill check if the ECU has power tomorrow..(raining, and homework)....

*what great timing, i was going to go to PR and see what my car does in the 1/4 mile...

i think it might be the relay... because i check the 3 relays under the dash (near steering wheel)and they all get about 12V.... i used the multi meter on the plug that goes into the relays...

i get 12v on the plugs to the relay... but only 3v to the FP...

ECU get 12V also...

my guess is your main relay popped. If you don't have the CEL when the Ign swtich on, the ECU isn't getting power. This happened on Kaymin's car, I spent a few hours tracking it down. I can probably dig up a spare if you want to try it.
