hey guys real quick question hope i am in the right place.
Anyways i was thinking about buying a sti for a little project car. I found a subaru sti '05 in exellent condition owned by a 70 yr old man he's selling it for 16k always garage kept the only draw back is its got 100k miles. He said the reason for the high miles was because his girlfriend lived like 10hrs away and he use to go visit on the weekends (only highway miles). So i'm asking u subie professionals what would u do. Would u buy the car or just look for another one? My plans for the car will include a short block build new clutch and turbo upgrade. Plus the car has no mods I'm pretty new to subies but not new to the import world so i guess im not to worry about the engine but just the very little things that might go wrong.. so any input is appreciated thanks again for reading

The 05 is the best year STI you can get in the old generation STI's. It's the peak of GD STI's. The 04's have crappy wheel bearings and 5x100 wheels, the 06+ lost the Spec-C parts that the 04 and 05 STI's got.
I'd get the car checked out and then probably buy it. |

well i was about to buy this sti in the middle of writing the cashier check for 14k for the car a guy comes to the seller and offers him 16.5k for the car. I was kinda piss but kinda glad too. Really dont know who got the better deal was it me because i still got all my money and i dont have a car with alot of miles on the tranny or the guy that paid blue book and has a car that has 100k miles on it. I guess i got more time to save more money for mods and search for a cleaner sti with light miles what do u guys think?
