100 Acre Woods Rally **Lots-O-Pics**
These are a few pics I have from friday night, I was Marshalling on stage 1 point 10
It was great to see all the cars flying by, I heard through the grapevine of a big crash on stage 4, but it's so far just hearsay so who knows... here are some of the pics i've edited and resized and i'm about ready for bed so there will be plenty more coming in the next day, also had 5 cameras taking various angles and parts of this marshal point, so hopefully i'll have some good video up soon Edit: Video, prelim video, not the finished video but the quicky (my first time using premiere) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdFbFDqa6kU please do not use my pictures without my permission Thanks for looking! -Christian

Thanks! i'm going to be going downtown, the first stage and the superspecial stage tomorrow so hopefully i'll get some more daytime pics!
yea the Evo X looks funky as a rally car I was surprised to see Mirra's co-driver! Subaru definitely has a great team this year, IMO can't wait until tomorrow! |

Not bad at all! You captured the action pretty well. Just a few suggestions...first off, it's situations like this where you can actually make good use of your 10 MP. Make some of the crops tighter and/or crop them in such a way to maintain the rule of thirds...that way, you won't have everything centered. I took these at Formula D last year and just about all of them are a crop of some sort:
http://verdugo.smugmug.com/gallery/5686638_42C98 Shutter speed is pretty much spot-on...panning's not easy so you did a good job! The only other thing I'd suggest is that they're all a little underexposed and a bit too contrasty, but both of these should be an easy fix in post-processing. Finally, I think a little bit warmer white balance would help enhance the photos too Hope this helps! Armin |

Definitely helps, I have quite a bit of room to crop many of these, as far as post processing, it was overcast 4:30 pm, in the woods, so when i was zoomed in (f/5.6) they were pretty dark so i auto toned and tried to get the colors of the dirt to be less blue if that was on there, so i'll take that to heart for sure when i go through these when i get back home thank you very much for the advice! If anyone has a particular car they'd like to see (I have pics of all but 1 or 2 cars) I can make sure to put those on, I just didn't feel like going through all 500 pics and cropping and posting when I was super tired lol, can't wait for the Super Special today! |

I wish we had more "rally" cars here in America.
A little diversity in the cars would be great Instead of subaru, subaru, subaru, subaru, evo, subaru, subaru, etc... |
