Default 32 more dyno pulls, more power, and a good start to the new season!!

I'm really excited for the new season, as Junior has worked pure magic yet again with my 07 STi.

I really thought their was no room for improvement other than driving, but I must admit, I was wrong. The car has previously gone 12.02 @ 112.6 with a 1.74 60ft (TBE, MBC, Tune).

The car now has a SPT ram air, Maddad EL headers, and a maddad 2.5" ID up-pipe. The headers and intake were suggested by Junior, and I fought him for the better part of a month as I thought no gains would be achieved.

Well, who says the vf39/43/48 falls off, lol. The car makes generally if not a little more power than last year, but never falls off. My plot from last year drops 38 whp by redline, the new plot drops 10 . (held 18psi @ redline!!)

Ill have vids and slips when I get a chance. Even though I didnt break 11's on opening day, you can see how much more potential the car has with my 60ft compared to ET.

Track was 40 degrees, 60ft spin city... Literally impossible to hook

12.37 @ 113.2 w/ 1.99 60ft
12.12 @ 113.2 w/ 1.85 60ft
12.14 @ 113.2 w/ 1.76 60ft (couldn't find third )
12.10 @ 113.8 w/ 1.89 60ft

Big Thanks to Jimmy @ The Shop for the installs and hours of sponsored dyno time.

Drag radials and 1.6 60ft's soon to come

Congrats! Im excited to see more!

You still hitting 25+ psi? Where you see the 10hp drop instead of 38hp, how much PSI are you making at that point? I am debating between a Grimm 38mm EWG or a set of perrin EL headers and a standard aftermarket uppipe. Also working on our open source tune tomorrow and am curious as to what I can expect to hold for boost until redline.

Nice! My distant future may hold an STi for me, so I like seeing what people near the fringe are running with a few mods and a great tune.

Can we see the dyno plot?

Could I ask why you went with the MADDAD EL headers. Is Equal headers better then the Unequal headers?

Northmiler, no more crazy boost, its totally unnecessary for drag. My car is making 100-105 ft*lbs less than last year. Relative to dyno jet numbers, on 19psi I made 350 whp @ 5200 and at 7000 still made the same 350. I do not even think Junior could believe it, he looked at me with the face of the devil when it happened. Jumped back to 26psi, 370 tapering to 330. Ended up at 23psi, making 370 tapering to between 350-360 varying on the many pulls we did at this boost level. I have to get some graphs up so you guys can see this stuff.

Juan, believe it!!! It took hours of troubleshooting to make it happen. Last year it held 16.xxx We started at 14psi @ redline, then 15, then 16, then 17.5, then 18. By the way, I had passengers and equipment, so my car was a fat. 3330 on the scale today compared to another Junior tuned stock turbo car weighing in @ 3060, with driver!!!
Unfortunately he had an 04 with high miles and snapped a motor mount first pass out.

Xdrian, cant wait to see your beast rip man!!! I hear that stock block is still flawless.

WagonGGA, I was skeptical with headers and a stock turbo. When Junior told me he could get these for me at cost, I still refused. After about a month I gave him the benefit of the doubt and did them. Completely worth it. I would never buy another manifold, even if I sound now identical to an evo, haha!!

now I am more confuse than ever ,

1- You had passengers and equipment and the car weight 3300 lbs, so with out passengers and equipment, just you the car weights about 3000 lbs , correct?

2- You made 370whp on VF43, wow thats a high reading dyno, but awesome runs. Are you running a cutout like Timeatk or a full exhaust?

3- What race gas did you use?

Yeah man I use to remember when you use to say, you just need a TBE, a MBC and good tune to run 11s .

Congrats man, put some drag radials and you will be in the 11s easy .

The car has trapped 115mph, the car weighs 3300lbs, Rolys car was 30XX and trapped 115 with 350whp.. So is it hard to believe that 20 more whp got a car that is roughly 250lbs heavier to the same Trap speed??
It was actually 367whp.. High reading, low reading.. Its still a stage 2 3300lbs STI going very low 12s and making good MPH.
Wednesday we will do it again. This time with some better traction.
In the end, who cares about the dyno numbers.. The track performance says it all.

Those were actually the slow MPH passes... We were down on power toward the end of last season. Car had trapped a best of 115mph. Mikey fixed his issue though, so we are expecting consistent 115mph traps now... and 11s

stock intercooler?

q16?

junior,

im curious as to how you are "controlling" the boost at redline with the MBC? IE if it was running 26 psi down to 16 psi before, and now its running 23 psi down to 18psi......just seems weird. Or is mikey saying something wrong?

If you had to turn the MBC down to get down to 23psi at low rpm....it seems almost impossible that the boost at redline went up.

Or with the setup before were you effectively maxing the turbo (IE running a 100% WGDC) and now with a better VE and less WGDC (so to say, or less turns on the mbc) you are achieving more mrp.

Why no Ext Wg?

Are these dyno pullz and runz with a full tbe or is the exhaust take off after the DP?

Also curious what kind of motor and gear oil you're running?

thanks
ron

Phatron, stock ic, full exhaust, mobile 1 5w-30,redline. Junior would have to tell you how he actually made this happen. What I can eventually show you when i get back down to the shop are graphs that will impress you. As Junior said, pay no attension to the numbers. If you want reference, this would be approx 315whp on a mustang.

The car now is tuned on c16 instead of c10. The car was 3330 with me in it while on the track. Didnt really do much for weight reduction this time around, spare, wing, and back seat. So I took about 100-120 out of the car. I weigh 230. I could probably get the car down to 3200 with me in it, but I do not feel like putting in the effort. Im confident in 11.6's and possibly dipping into the 11.5 area with a 1.600 60ft.

Juanmedina, I wasnt crazy when I said stock turbo cars could go 11's with a TBE and Tune. That 12.02 was with a 1.74 60ft. With a 1.60 it was an 11.7-11.8 car.

42k miles and running strong as ever
