2 counts, right?

Question intake or not?

I'm deciding on an air intake for a 2.2L MY96 Impreza, I've found two products that I'm interested in, and was wondering if anyone has experianced any difficulties and/or anyone has found that one product offers more performance than the other.
1) Weapon*R Dragon Filter Intake -about $185.00
or
2)Weapon*R AFM/Dragon Filter - about $90.00

The price doesn't really bother me that much, and I'm guessing the only differance between the two products is that the second one doesn't come with pipe and attaches directly to the existing hosing, replacing just the airbox. I don't know maybe the pipe they supply allows for more air? Is that piece of pipe just for aesthetics? Thanks in advance for all responses.

(AFM=air flow meter)

Most people like the Ganzflow and Cobb. I have the Ganz and dig it.

if you do a search, you will find that most people find that the Weapon R is the worse intake that you can do for our cars... and that COBB and Ganzflow are of the top...

those intakes are all fine and dandy if you have a MAP sensor (which im sure the 96's don't). i'd get the cheaper weapon r and a ractive filter instead of the dragon filter. with the ractice, you'll be able to add some sort of hose and run it into the fender well and voila! cold air intake.

Hmm... for a 96 2.2 you might want to just do the K+N cone air filter with map adapter from www.imprezars.com and keep the torque box... you might loose low end with the Weapon-R (if not, you can just make some piping yourself later, its not that hard)

(fixed link )

You will have to do some modifications to get most intakes adapted for the MAF. Search this forum and you will find tons of threads about it. Search for threads posted by me with MAF in the title...
