Default 22b body pieces for sale?

we all know what the 22b looks like. can you buy those fender flare pieces to add to your, oh say, 99 RS? i thought of a crazy idea of making a 26b. i found an STi 2.5L bored over to a 2.6L. put that in a 99 RS body with 22b fender flares and the other cosmetic stuff and make a 26b badge and there you go! a 26b right? lol anyone ever heard of someone doing? if not, thanks for stealing my idea!

(for the millionth time.....) To get the true OEM pieces, you'll need a valid VIN. If you can live with aftermarket repop parts....go for it! I personally wouldn't badge it as something it isn't, but it would be unique......just make sure it's got the "go" to back up the "show".

there is around 3 company's that build replica 22B kits, its kinda expensive to buy and expensive to do the body work for it.

HT autos is one, http://www.aerosim-research.com/ is another and I don't remember who the last one is.

the front fenders bolt up theres a company that just makes front 22b fenders I forgot who and the rear you find whomever.

the body work involved would cost just as much if not more than an sti swap.

let me know if you really wanna go though it all, expect around 2-4k for the parts and who knows how much for the body work.

Aeroism in CA makes a WRC match. $3k for FG and $4K for CF. And the 22B doesn't refer to the displacement. A good half of the 22B replications are kits and a few others are hand done steel work. Really work on the engine in the car then work on the body. I wish you luck just keep in mind it will cost a lot.

lol damn thats expensive. it was just some crazy idea i have incase i win the lottery! yeah it would be unique but isnt that what you do with your car by putting carbon fiber hoods, dif rims, lights and whatever else? i know its some crazy pipe dream, just curious if anyone has ever heard of it being done and how to go about it. get this, if i remember correctly the 2.65L engine was well over 10k. full blown upgraded in and out id say. i saw that engine and this pic of my black 99 RS made into this 26b creation popped into my head. if anyone ever hears of it being done let me know, or if you have pics of just people putting the 22b body kits on, curious to see how good it can look. but yeah for that kind of money i would rather do the STi swap first anyday

im laughing with yall on this pipe dream of an idea....

ht autos has a usa shop now that you can order from
http://subarukits.com/shop_usa_5.html
that isn't to much but again the body work involved is a lot
that same site shows whats involved when going 22b body kit

and some other links

the only really terrible thing about the body work is the paint.

the front is completely bolt on, and the rear can be adhered with an aircraft grade bondo.

there is also a company called black magic (i believe that is correct) that make a lower quality kit for about $700 front and rear.

22b in hex converts to 555 in decimal. 555 is a cigarette brand that used to sponsor Subaru in the WRC. "555" used to be much more orientated with Subarus back in the day, but people kind of forgot about that number once they dropped the sponsorship. I'm pretty sure they released a 555 version of the Impreza as well.

this is their version of the 22b kit. The kit was designed in the U.S. The test car used has a ej25 motor in it.

the front looks nice but the rear is disgusting! why on the hell would you want all those rivets/bolt heads showing??? that looks so ghetto white trash. not a bad price though for the front. if they rear can be done with body work and paint under 1000 bucks total for the whole kit it might not be a bad idea. it looks nice

yeah id like to know also cus from sites that revolve around the 22b and people who own them claim the 22 means a 2.0L engine bored out the 2.2 and the b stands for bored. is this true? i did find it on the internet so we all know how reliable that may be...

555 in hexadecimal is 22b

The name itself is an enigma. Many journalists jumped to the mistaken assumption that 22 referred to the 2.2 litre engine and the B stood for Bilstein, the car’s suspension manufacturers. The truth is 22B is hexadecimal (number base 16, used in the coding of computer programmes where the letter A to F are used for the numbers 10 to 15) for 555.
