Question Exhaust for WRx and GC8?

One quick question.
Would a WRX turboback fit GC8?
If not the entire exhuast, would any part of the turboback fit GC8 like catback or mid pipe?
Thanks.

Doug

Wow, ignorance is bliss......

Dougeefresh, I am running a WRX turbo-back exhaust on my GC8 right now. I drive a 2001 RS-Turbo.

The exhaust works awesome for my setup, though the only thing is the downpipe sits kind of low, resulting in a slighty saggy looking exhaust underneath. This of course would all depend on the type of uppipe that you use. If you are planning on doing a custom kit, the WRX OEM turbo back will fit, though you will need to have a tap for the front o2 sensor made, mine is right before the cat in the downpipe. Oh, and I am using a Stromung muffler, not the stock WRX one.

Parts of the WRX turbo back will fit the stock WRX. I believe that you have to have a flange turned slightly and then it will fit. I think thats the turbo back portion. I belive North Ursaila has the full thing on his car right now, and he ahsn't gotten turbo charged yet, ask him.

Hmm, let's see, he specifically asked if a turboback exhaust from a WRX would fit a GC8. This is posted in the NA forum, so the natural assumption would be that a turboback exhaust would not fit onto the NA GC8.

Where's the ignorance in that?

Notice I did not say sections of it wouldn't fit. I know of people with WRX exhausts on their NA Imprezas, just not a full turboback like he's asking.

keiho is right. turbo back won't fit because there is no turbo the midpipe also wouldn't fit because its too short. the axle back muffler might, i'm not sure.

Come on Keiho, be logical, what do you think he meant when he said "turbo-back exhaust", please note the word "turbo".

I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not, when I say I 'think' Dougeefresh understands having a turbo-back exhaust requires having a 'turbo'.

From what it looks like, he posted this is the wrong forum.

Impreza Kid, sorry, wrong again. I'm ALSO using the WRX midpipe, and it fits. Some guys did take it upon themselves to have a custom midpipe made, as this is the part that does slightly sag, but I guess its up to the owners preferences.
