Default yet another ej20g question

car cranked for about 15 secs, then the CEL came on. car died.

now when the ignition key is turned to ON, all the cluster lights, CEL and interior dash lights flicker on and off really fast, and i hear a relay clicking. car wont start back up as well.

checked all fuses (fine)
im pretty sure i connected my battery and starter up the correct way.

also this swap ran fine previously, motor was pulled and rebuilt, and reinstalled, after the install i am running into this problem.

the wiring should be good bc it ran perfect before i removed the motor. also the wiring was merged by ECS so i assure it is correct.

is their anything i could have hooked up wrong to have these lights and relays doing this? also not starting back up?

See what code is in your computer for starters.

Also, is your engine ground strap hooked up?

no codes coming up. i hooked up the green test connectors and the gauge cluster flashing and relay problem went away, and the car will crank and run fine now. (when connectors are hooked up)

but the fans, and relays click like they are suppose to when hooked up, but it will crank and run fine.

if you disconnect them, it goes back to flashing and wont crank. going crazy with lights flickering and whatnot.

on the other hand...i re used my rs tranny that was 100% fine when taken out of the car, shifted fine no problems at all, ok..when i re installed it back into the car, it wont go into any gear but 2nd and reverse with the car OFF, and with alot of force. wont go smooth nor will any other gear engage. it is like the clutch wont engage and shift into gear. strange bc it worked fine previously, and wasnt damaged.

bled clutch, trans case bolted to block smooth, throw out bearing installed correctly, as well as clutch flywheel and pressure plate. is their a way to have the shift linkage on back wards?

so now i have 2 problems with the car...

Maybe you have a ground and power wire mixed up somehwere then.

Time to get out the schematic and see what changes with the test connectors plugged in and what could be powering all your dash lights with it unplugged. I'd assume the clicking relay to be part of the problem circuit too.....

What type of clutch are you using? Sounds like a mismatch between parts.

98 legacy gt 5mt trans 4:11 with a 99 rs clutch. should be the exact same. all rs clutches should be i believe. trans is 4:11 and i have already used it, i have not used this clutch or flywheel, but everything bolted up smooth with no problems at all.

Is your shift fork still on the throw out bearing? Does the pedal travel properly?

shift fork and bearing still mated. and on the input shaft correctly, and yes the clutch pedel travels smooth and correctly, and has pressure like it is supposed to.

Is the clutch disengaging?

Try putting the car in gear and then pushing the clutch in with somebody pushing the car to see if it moves or not.

i cna put into second gear (rough to shift into gear) and move the car foward when releasing the clutch pedal, then push in clutch and take out of gear to nuetral. ( still hard to move into and out of gears. to get into reverse i have to have the car off and put into gear. otherwise it will grind badly.
it is like the gears are really sticky and dont want to go into smoothly. trans worked before.

Have you bled the slave cylinder properly? There should be probably a couple of bleeder screws. Loosen the one on the slave cylinder itself first and bleed it (just like brakes) and then work your way back up the line to the clutch master looking for anymore bleed locations.
