why? just get a 2.5 unless you are planning on dragging and need the 2.0 for revs. You can make any ecu work with any car with the right sensors and wiring.

if i was you i would just use the appropriate wire harness for that specific year 2.0 that your looking to get. i spun a rod bearing in my old 04 wrx and i was gonna buy a 02 wrx motor and i was going to have to use the wire harness from the 02 for it to work. be safe. dont do anything hack, thats when you run into problems.

I wasnt planning on dragging it...but I got a 280+ chp engine and I already have a ej20g/k in the GC8 so I was going to make it a reliable DD because my ranger is ticking like a bomb and it just isnt that roomy anymore....and rwd ftl in any road hazzard conditions...lol

I'd say get an sti/fxt oem black and call it a day it its you're DD. Build it with ~9:1 compression and run less than 15 psi on a mid size (~18g, vf 39) turbo. Off boost repsonse will be great and the thing will haul but won't be anywhere near risky while still putting 250 to the wheels...
